The Mission of the Johnstown-Milliken Rotary Teen Impact Awards is to acknowledge, lift-up and reward teens for acts of service and character, while also supporting leadership and service programs that strengthen the mission of values of the sponsoring organizations.

Richard Boresen
Richard Boresen, a sophomore at Roosevelt High School, has been honored as the Johnstown BBQ Day Youth of the Year. This prestigious title is a testament to Richard's exceptional dedication to his community and his outstanding achievements.
2023 Winner
Alexa Tovar
Alexa Tovar and Jonathan Carlson won 8th place in the Caring for Our Watersheds competition with a project that focused on a solution to keep our school parking lots clean. Their project made it possible to add trash cans in our new school's parking lots, along with a netting system that will capture and hold garbage that is blown around campus by the wind.

Congratulations Yaeyln Chavez, RHS FBLA sophomore, for being elected as a State FBLA Officer for District 1 and FBLA District Officer, for her involvement at the District Conference.

Representatives of the RHS Interact Club showed that leadership by presenting to other Rotary Clubs from across the region in Estes Park last weekend. Our Interactors are known throughout Colorado and Wyoming for their incredible volunteerism and how they support the Weld RE-5J community!

Aika Reiser Graduates with Interact Honors. In order to letter and Graduate with honors, Aika was required to earn 100 points by completing projects, leading projects, participating in fundraising opportunities, attending meetings, and applying for Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and Johnstown-Milliken Rotary Club Student of the Month.

Congratulations to the winner of the 2023 Johnstown Sticker Design Contest, Holly Boresen! Holly's design was determined by the community to best encapsulate the theme “What does Johnstown mean to you?”

Sebastian Clifton
Sebastian Clifton started his Work-Based Learning (WBL) course in August. Since August, Sebastian has ensured that Hunger Heroes has provided over 1,900 meals to Weld Re5J students who are enrolled in the program.

Owen has recently finished his Freshman year at Arizona State University. He is working towards his Business Communications degree. On top of his dedication to academics, he was apart of the Undergraduate Student Government.

Marlo's dedication and talent shine through her achievements in the RHS Gymnastic's program, State FBLA conference, and RHS Track Program. Now, she's taking on a new challenge as a Social Media and Marketing intern for TRPR.

Annabelle Rusco
Annabelle Rusco, RHS freshman, embarked on a remarkable journey six years ago after witnessing the struggles of other children during her hospital stays. Using her own experiences as a patient at Children’s Hospital Colorado, she noticed a need and felt compelled to give back. Annabelle's Annual Children's Hospital Stand was born, offering handmade crafts, raffle baskets, and donated items. With overwhelming support from the community, the stand has raised over $42,000 in the last five years, benefiting various areas of the hospital. Annabelle's initiative has garnered recognition, and she continues to inspire others to make a difference.

MaLeah Calderon
MaLeah Calderon, Roosevelt High School junior, pictured with her Work-Based Learning mentor Brianna Waugh, of TopCo Reality, has been enrolled in Roosevelt High School's Work-Based Learning Business and Marking program for nine months. She started her internship experiences as a summer intern for Avery Reynolds, publisher of Influence Magazine. Her drive and dedication to her marketing position gave her a number of valuable learning experiences, leading her to accept an offer to help run a social media department from the Johnstown Downtown Development Association (JDDA). MaLeah is responsible for updating the Visit Downtown Johnstown website, promoting upcoming events on the Visit Downtown Johnstown Facebook page, and working alongside the JDDA president and vice president.

Congratulations, Taegan Olson! At the State track meet, Taegan vaulted 12.2 taking 2nd, barely missed making it to finals for the 100m, and ran the 4x100. We are so proud of her hard work!

Skylar Anderson
Skylar has recently finished her Freshman year at Colorado State University. On top of maintaining academic excellence, she was a part of the swim team and maintained employment. Skylar also made time in her busy schedule to serve her local community!

2023 Johnstown Milliken Rotary Club
The Johnstown Milliken Rotary is committed to making a positive impact on the community through various initiatives and programs. We believe in transparency and accountability, which is why we want to provide you with an overview of how the funds raised through our activities are being utilized. The following are the main points of how the funds are allocated:
1. Rotary Student of the Month Scholarships ($1,800):
- The funds raised contribute towards scholarships awarded to outstanding students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance, leadership skills, and community involvement.
- These scholarships aim to support and encourage students in their educational pursuits and provide them with opportunities to excel.
2. Rotary Student of the Year Scholarships ($2,000):
- The funds raised are utilized to award scholarships to exceptional students who have shown consistent dedication, leadership, and community service throughout their academic journey.
- These scholarships recognize and reward the remarkable achievements of students who have made a significant impact on their school and community.
3. yRYLA Leadership Conference ($3,600):
- The funds raised help sponsor deserving young individuals to attend the yRYLA (Youth Rotary Leadership Awards) Leadership Conference.
- This conference aims to provide young leaders with a transformative experience, empowering them with valuable leadership skills, fostering personal growth, and inspiring them to make a positive difference in their communities.
4. RYLA Leadership Conference ($3,600):
- The funds raised also contribute towards sponsoring deserving individuals to attend the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) Leadership Conference.
- The RYLA conference focuses on developing leadership abilities, team-building skills, and instilling a sense of service among young adults, enabling them to become effective leaders in their schools, workplaces, and communities.
We strive to ensure that every dollar raised is used judiciously to support these programs and initiatives. Our organization maintains a transparent and accountable approach to financial management, adhering to the highest standards of integrity.
