Assessments

Assessments

EWCSD utilizes a variety of assessments to monitor student growth and achievement. Our teachers engage in daily informal formative assessments to make timely decision about whether a student understands the material and concepts being presented. We also utilize several summative assessments to determine if a student has mastered grade level skills and standards.

SBAC | Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium- The Smarter Balanced assessments are new computer-based tests that measure student knowledge of California's English language arts/literacy and mathematics standards.

California has adopted more rigorous academic standards that emphasize not only subject knowledge, but also the critical thinking, analytical writing, and problem-solving skills students need to be successful in college and career. These standards set a higher bar for California students to help ensure they are prepared to succeed in the future.
