Pre-K Prayer Corner

These are the prayers your child will be learning in Pre-K 1:

Morning Prayer:

Dear Jesus, I give you my day

All that I think, do, and say

Help me be kind, help me be wise

Help me to see the world through your eyes

Amen

Prayer before snack:

Thank you for the food we eat

Thank you for the world so sweet

Thank you for the birds that sing

Thank you, God, for everything

Prayer before lunch:

Bless us O Lord, and these thy gifts

Which we are about to receive, from thy bounty

Through Christ our Lord, Amen

End of the day prayer:

Angel of God, my guardian dear

To whom God's love entrusts me here

Ever this day be at my side

To light, to guard, to rule and to guide

Amen

During the school year, the Pre-K students will also learn the "Our Father" and the "Hail Mary"

How can I help my child pray? (talk to God)

1. Take your child to church.

2. Pray as a family (meals, bedtime, anytime)

3. Talk to your child about your relationship with God. Tell/Show your child how you talk to God.

4. Set up a prayer corner in your child's bedroom/house.

What Should I Put In the Prayer Corner?

Your child's prayer corner could be in a corner, a table, dresser or wherever you have an open quiet spot.

If it is in a corner, you can use a stool as a small table. Place a child's Bible or prayer book on the table or in a basket. Have a picture of Jesus visible, ( it could be as small as a prayer card). You can place a small religious statue or battery operated candle on the table. Ask your child what she would like to have in the prayer corner. What would make her feel closer to God?
