Google Classroom is a website and app that serves as the organizational tool for all of our day-to-day learning and assignments. It's where I'll share the lessons and work for your student. I will also share links to our live Zoom lessons for easy login.
The best thing that you can do to support your student with the transition to fifth grade is to take 5 minutes at the end of their school day and ask them to show you their assignments.
Have them click on each one and briefly show you the work that they have submitted. Try to position it as showing interest, instead of "policing" their work.
Ask them if they feel comfortable with the topic or if they need any support from their teacher.
If they need help, have them leave a private comment on the assignment they need help with and I'll respond within 1-2 hours (during the 8:30-3:30 school day)
Many students seem to do best completing the work on a laptop or desktop, but I definitely encourage you to also install the Google Classroom app on your phone, and ask your student to sign-in with their NCS Google Account so that you can see my responses to their questions.
