Fifth grade is the final transition year before middle school. It's the last year to have just one teacher for all academic subjects. Our 5th grade team places a big focus on equipping our students with the confidence and discipline to take responsibility for their own learning. That said, being the oldest students in the building provides opportunities for leadership and the chance to demonstrate trustworthiness for amazing projects that younger students potentially couldn't handle.
Students are expected to stay on-task at an age-appropriate level, taking short breaks as needed.
