Students should always have a snack with them that they can have during the day. If not, I have some available, although having them replenished by our Parent Helpers is appreciated. Please remember to never bring/send any nut products into the school due to risk of allergic reactions. This includes coconut.
Yes, I encourage the use of quiet fidget toys and plushies for stimming children during lessons. Please note, they must not make noise of any kind or be distracting to their fellow classmates, or it will be taken away until the end of the class period.
Yes, I am trained in First Aid and CPR.
School supplies lists will be sent home on the first day of each Fall and Spring Semester. If you would like to contribute to our classroom stash, please let me know and I can get you a list of what may be needed.

Cell phones should be on silent and placed into backpacks or purses. If they go off the first time, a verbal warning will be issued. A second offense will lead to the phone being taken away during class and returned at the end of the period. If this becomes a regular problem, the student will be banned from having a phone in my class. If you are having an emergency and need to speak with your child immediately, my class phone number is 870-514-2365.
Please note that if your child has an iPhone, their notifications cannot be on flashing lights. Not only is this distracting to your child and their classmates, it is also a health and safety hazard for those with epilepsy and seizures. Students with iPhones will only receive one warning about this notice before the phone will be banned from class. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
Yes, you may bring treats for the whole class, as long as they are covered under the food guidelines in your Parent Handbook. If you are only bringing a treat for your child, please leave it with the front desk, so that other children are not upset by not receiving something.
Marion School District's policy is that a child can only miss 10 days of school per semester before parents/students are penalized. This policy can be found on our school district's official website.
Please note that all excused absences with a doctor's note will not be counted against your child.
There should be no nuts, including peanuts and coconut, allowed in the classroom due to allergies. Thank you for understanding.
