Readiness: Students need to come to class prepared with their textbook and notebook, listen, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat (to own it they have to say it) as their novice level. They must stay and complete task, turn in or submit their homework on time as they are the most common minor assessment that weigh a lot in the overall grade. But most important, participation in class is the key to succeed in their French language acquisition.
Evaluative Criteria: Teacher utilizes student observation checklists, daily participation in independent, paired, and/or collaborative group tasks, quizzes and tests, oral/written performance-based assessments, integrated performance assessments targeting interpretive, interpersonal and presentational modes of communication, projects, and student self-assessments to monitor and evaluate the progress and achievement of the above stated proficiencies.
**The 5 cs can be applied to any level of proficiency from middle school to high school students.
