In this activity, students are asked to trace and write simple personal sentences such as “What’s your name?” and “I’m Jenny.” Since the students are still in the early stages of writing, tracing is an essential step to help them develop proper letter formation, spacing, and sentence awareness.
This task allows me to assess their ability to recognize sentence structure, copy words accurately, and begin forming simple sentences on their own. It also supports motor skill development and builds writing confidence in a guided and age-appropriate way.
In this activity, students are asked to read the question “What’s this?” and write a complete sentence to describe the object shown in the picture, such as “It’s a ruler.” This task helps assess students’ ability to read, understand, and write simple English sentences using the correct structure.
It also reinforces their vocabulary knowledge and sentence formation skills while encouraging independent writing. This is a useful activity for checking both reading comprehension and early writing accuracy in a fun, visual way.
