To assess students' understanding of basic sentence structure, I will use this “Unscramble, Write, and Circle” activity from Let’s Go 1 – Unit 1. In this exercise, students are asked to rearrange scrambled words into correct question forms such as “Is this a marker?”, then write the sentence on the line provided.
After forming the correct question, they look at the picture and choose the appropriate short answer by circling “Yes, it is.” or “No, it isn’t.”
This activity allows me to evaluate their grasp of word order in questions, the correct use of articles (a/an), and the ability to apply grammar structures in context.
Total Score: 12 points
10–12: Excellent understanding
7–9: Satisfactory
4–6: Needs Improvement
1–3: Beginning level
