My name is Ryan Melton. I teach Mathematics at Jacksonville College. My current courses are:
That said, I teach all face-to-face Mathematics courses here!
I am married and we have one son. My son and I like to take walks and we live close to campus, so don't be surprised to see us walking through campus or in the SUB!
When I was in High School I felt God calling me to youth ministry. Following that call, I served as a Youth Pastor for several years. When I began college at Stephen F. Austin State University, a Mathematics Professor changed my life, showing me the beauty and usefulness of math. This led me to consider graduate school.
Pairing this new discovery with my calling to minister to youth, I became a High School Mathematics Teacher at Lufkin ISD in Lufkin, Texas. I was there for 4 years, seeing many of my students graduate high school. It was that realization that prompted me to consider that God had expanded my calling to college students.
I have been at Jacksonville College since Fall 2017. I enjoy leading students in studying the Bible and worshiping our risen Savior, Jesus Christ. I am one of the leaders of our Men's Bible Study on campus - Fearless.
