Some words and statements from great personalities have a profound impact on us. One such statement that deeply influenced me to enter this profession was: "The future of the country takes shape in the classroom." This thought made me reflect deeply and led me to choose the teaching profession. As I continued doing my work sincerely, I was fortunate to be recognized and receive several awards as part of this journey.
When we do our work sincerely, awards naturally come to us. In this way, after the formation of the Telangana state in 2014, I was selected as the Best Teacher at the mandal level, and I received the award from the then MLA Smt. Rekha Shyam Nayak. That award further increased my sense of responsibility.
In 2015, I once again received the Best Teacher award at the mandal level, this time presented by the then Mandal Education Officer, Sri Amarnath. Later, in 2016, I was selected as the Best Teacher of the undivided Adilabad district and received the award from the then District Collector and District Education Officer. In 2023, I was once again honored as the Best Teacher at the district level during the prestigious Telangana Decade Celebrations initiated by the state government. I received the award from the then Chief Whip, Mr. Balka Suman.
In 2024, due to the government’s transfer policy, I was transferred to Akkapalli Primary School. This transfer became sensational as 132 students moved along with me to the new school. This event brought our efforts into the limelight and drew public attention.
As a result, the Meena Shri Shri Vatsav Foundation from Bihar personally invited me to Patna, where I received the Best Teacher award from the state education minister. I will never forget their warm hospitality in my life.
Subsequently, in 2024, I also received the State Best Teacher Award from the Telangana government. Receiving these awards has only increased my responsibility, and I now feel even more committed to providing quality education to children.
MPPS Ponkal, Jannaram Mandal, Mancherial District - As part of a transfer, I joined the MPPS (Mandala Parishad Primary School) in S. Ponakal in July 2012. At that time, the school had only 42 students. Most of the children in the area were attending nearby English medium private schools. Observing this, I proposed that we start an English medium section in our school. In 2013, we initiated English medium instruction and began teaching in English.
We involved the local youth and community in our efforts, gradually increasing student enrollment and achieving the desired outcomes. In 2015, we received sanction for a new classroom and successfully completed its construction. We also completed the necessary toilets with the support of donors and introduced computer education in the school.
We organized the school’s annual day celebrations and, step by step, developed various programs. Seeing this progress, students from eight surrounding gram panchayats began enrolling in our school.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we educated parents about online learning and conducted Zoom classes. This helped build trust among the parents. As a result, by 2021, the student strength reached 251. Eventually, our school was selected under the "Mana Ooru Mana Badi" program, and we developed complete infrastructure and facilities comparable to a corporate school.
Many of our students achieved remarkable results — around 200 students were selected for Gurukulam schools and 10 students were selected for Navodaya. Our school achieved several milestones and was recognized as one of the best schools at the mandal and district levels.

On July 1, 2024, the day our MPP elder sister's wedding took place, I also reported to the new school on transfer. At that time, the number of students there was just 18. The next day, 132 students joined from my previous school all at once. That very day, recognition came from the Mandal, district, state, and national levels.
My salutations once again to the parents who placed such immense trust in us by entrusting their children. This is a photo of the school from that day.
In just three months, an additional 72 students were enrolled. As of April 23, the school had 209 students, and including pre-primary, the total number reached 221.
Perhaps such an incident hasn't occurred anywhere else — maybe that’s why this news reached the BBC News Channel. The Bihar government and a local voluntary organization even arranged and sponsored air travel and honored me — something truly unforgettable in my life.
My heartfelt thanks and salutations to all the officials, my fellow teachers, and the parents who supported me in this journey

On July 12, 2012, when I joined Ponkal School, the condition of the school was very poor — there was only one classroom, no washrooms, no compound wall, and the school was located right beside the road. It was a Telugu medium school. Gradually, with consistent efforts, I spent more time in the school than required, earned the trust of everyone there, and started English medium education. The student strength increased to 252, and all necessary facilities were provided. The school was developed in this way.
On the occasion of the memorial day of Sri Vatsava Collector in Patna, Bihar, his wife, Mrs. Meena, organizes an annual event under the name of the Meena Srivatsava Foundation. Every year on August 9th, they select 9 individuals from 29 states who have rendered outstanding services in various fields. The foundation bears the flight expenses and provides five-star hotel accommodations for these awardees. The honors are presented by either the President or the Education Minister of the Bihar Government.
Receiving this award was truly an unforgettable moment in my life. I never imagined I would travel by flight one day. I am forever indebted to Mrs. Meena Srinivas Rao for honoring me and for the support and encouragement from my children and parents.
