Small part handling options are also set in the Profile Path Editor.
Tool Path Editor
To access the Tool Path Editor.
Click Libraries
Click CNC Tooling
select a Profile Tool
Click Profile Options
To acces the Tool Path Editor from the Optimize Tab
Click on the Profile Options button
To access the Tool Path Editor for a Pattern.
Click on the Patterns Tab
Select the Pattern
Click FILE | G-Code
Click the Calculate button
Click on the toolpath to edit in the toolpath window
Click the Edit button
Ramp In
To set a ramp in distance as tool enters material
Click the Ramp In checkbox
Enter the length of travel for ramp
Check Helical and Mozaik will ramp in at a 2deg helical approach.
Click Linear for a linear approach, click ZigZag for a z pattern approach.
Cut Direction ( Conventional Cutting / Climb Cutting )
To change the direction of the cut from conventional to climb
Click on Conventional to cut in the conventional direction
Click on Climb to cut with the cutter spiral.
Arc Corners
Select this option to add a small arc to the outside corners of parts for a continuous machine motion.
(Note - not all machines/controllers work with this option)
Small Part Handling
Select Setting menu to change from inches to metric
Select the type of small part handling you prefer.
Enter the Area of the Part as well as the Minimum dimension for a part edge. Both will be used in determining a small part.
Enter the thickness of the skin or tab.
Enter a Feedrate Reduction to slow the machine down when returning to cut out the tabs or skins.
Click the Cutout Manually checkbox to leave the tabs or skins in place and cut the parts loose manually. Great for machines without vacuum hold down. (Search also Edit Hold Downs)
