Instruction is most effective when it is rooted in physical experience. By engaging students in real-world projects learning becomes authentic and curriculum becomes a means rather than an end. That is a powerful distinction. Interest levels soar when students understand applications for concepts. They don't have to ask the age old question: "Why are we doing this?"
