Recently we walked the Mt Field East Lake Nicholls circuit.
Congratulations on the wonderful track work! We are most impressed with the track over Windy Moor which protects the alpine vegetation across that wet moorland. We love the way the track meanders around, making it visually appealing and much more interesting to walk on than a boring straight line walkway. The dark brown stain helps to blend it in.
The rock work on the circuit track was stable and easy to walk on too. Great to have a variety of surfaces underfoot.
The signage was also very good, with the small location map on each one and relevant history. Wonderful diversion to Beattie's tarn as well.
As fellow Wildcarers we appreciate the work the team has put into planning and organisation as well as the on-ground work.
Thank you all for the care and work you do for this magnificent park.

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous outing on the Tarn Shelf walk about a month ago now. I wanted to say thank you to all your awesome volunteers for all their hard work on making that track what it is. Thank you so very much. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Good afternoon Peter - just a quick note to say congratulations to your Friends of Mount Field for the great project at Windy Moor.
I loved the article in the Mercury. At Wildcare we must do more to get our good positive stories out to the public.
If you can pass on congratulations from the team here at Wildcare Inc - the in office mob that don't have as much fun as you guys do.

A group of us walked the Mt Field East Circuit on Sunday. It is a most impressive effort. The maps on the signs are great.

I have just read the story Adrian Blackman wrote highlighting the Friends of Mount Field’s work in 2017, and John Street’s highlights for the Friends of Wellington Park for the same year.
Both very impressive – an amazing amount of work. Gives me a greater understanding and appreciation for the contribution and leadership you and the team provide to both reserves.
Cheers,
Sam

Since the Windy Moor upgrade commenced, we have been asking passing walkers what their views were on the planking over the moorland from a protection of the plants and if it made the walk better for them.
The overwhelming response and been enormously positive with many offering sincere thanks.
The log book at Lake Nicholls Hut also has many comments of praize and next time I am there will copy some to post here.
