Adult Welcome Letter

Final Camp Meeting- July 7, 2024 at the park. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ATTEND.  WE WILL BE COVERING SAFETY AND PARK LAYOUT.

Check-In/Out:

Volunteers need to arrive no later than noon on Monday and 1 pm TU-TH.  It is awkward at best and unsafe at worst when we have campers arriving before their adult unit and station leaders. Camper check in begins at 1:45pm.  All Campers must be signed in and out at the headquarters tent.  Adults should be done by 8:30 pm M-W and 9:30 on Thursday.

Remember, campers will only be released to adults listed on the Parent Safety Agreement for Campers at Day Camp release form.  You must check PHOTO IDENTIFICATION even if you know them.  For campers’ safety, there will be no exceptions.

You are responsible for signing your own campers in and out of their units as well.  Program aides and VITs can check themselves in and out if their parents are at camp or if they are driving themselves. Parents just need to write “Teen can check themselves out” and sign the camper release form.

Absences: If you will be absent from camp, please call 425-327-0362 by noon.  We don’t have many adult volunteers so PLEASE try to be at camp.  We really need you!

All campers need to bring the following :

Note about Bucket Sit-upon: All returning campers please bring your camp bucket sit-upon's. Everything needs to be labeled with the camper’s name.  New campers will be given their bucket sit-upon's at the start of camp. We have donated buckets from E&E lumber for anyone who wants them or campers can bring a round 5 gallon bucket to make into their sit-upon. No lid required. Fred Myers has pretty colors and Home Depot and Lowe's have Seahawks themed if you are interested. Walmart has the cheapest in price but they only have white and blue.

Clothing

REMEMBER CAMP SHIRTS AND PROPER FOOTWEAR NEED TO BE WORN EACH DAY

Since we are outdoors, please wear sturdy play clothes and shoes.  We do get messy sometimes, too.  Dress appropriately for weather (e.g. Bring a raincoat or poncho if it might rain.  Campers will receive their camp T-shirt at the start of camp.  For safety and identification reasons, wearing camp T-shirts is MANDATORY. T-shirts can be modified as long as the logo is intact and everything important is covered sufficiently for use at a Girl Scout camp.  (Long sleeves can be worn under the camp T-shirt if necessary).  Sandals, flip-flops, or any shoes with open toes, heels, sides, or wheels are not permitted.  Campers not appropriately dressed will have to wait for proper clothes from home before being allowed to participate at camp per GSWW rules. Remember adults are role models for Girl Scouts so please wear the right shoes!

Food:  Adults will need a sack lunch and a water bottle.  Girl Scouts reduce, reuse, and recycle so please pack food in re-usable containers (e.g. a re-usable bottle, not a disposable juice box). We do not have facilities to prepare meals. We will be making snacks at camp. PLEASE note any food allergies on your health form.

Not So Secret Camper Grab Bags: This year at camp our adult volunteers are doing our secret camper again. If you want to participate just bring a themed item for exchange in a plain brown bag (we will have extra bags).  We have set a daily price limit at $5. You will bring your “gift” to HQ at the beginning of each day and our morale officer will redistribute them later in the day.   It is not necessary to participate every day or any day. This is just something we do for fun.
