Spiral motor has a helical shape like ball-screw, which the stator and mover have two three-phase windings and permanent magnets, respectively.
Thanks to the helical shape, this motor gets wider inductive gap area and higher thrust-per-volume than a cylindrical linear motor.
As an other feature, due to that the mover is magnetic levitated and free from mechanical frictions, this motor can do direct-drive.
More details are under construction.
