Slabs and Lumber:
Whether you need it from three-quarter sawn lumber to mantel size 4"-8" thick, we either have it in stock or can custom-cut it with our Wood-Mizer LX150 sawmill. Some products on hand are 3/4 rough sawn 2"-10" wide dimensional, 8/4 rough sawn live edge slabs. All slabs and dimensional lumber have various lengths and widths. Morriss Wood LLC does account for shrinkage and planing for each of your projects by adding 1/16-1/8" to each item. Please be mindful of what you are looking for in your project of a final thickness. Some pieces are only 2" or do not have that added 1/16-1/8".

Kiln Dried Wood and Kiln Services:
Morriss Wood LLC runs a Nyle 200m dehumidification system. On rare occasions, we do accept kiln services for others. The kiln can handle close to 4000bf (board foot) at a time. Cycle times are from 30-60 days. Timing will widely depend on the size of pieces, species, and moisture content. Morriss Wood LLC kiln was created to achieve the best performance for furniture-grade wood for slow-drying moisture extraction with high heat. As always, after each dying cycle, wood will have a rest time and re-absorption of moisture. Morriss Wood LLC can achieve 6% moisture content, but through rest and the environment (weather, humidity, transportation), the moisture content reading can then be 8-11%. High humidity in Michigan can even quickly bring it back up to 13%. Moving the product back to a safe place and maintaining the wood will be very important. Rounds/Discs:
Not only does Morriss Wood LLC do live edge slabs and dimensional lumber, we also provide Rounds. Rounds are a measured 1" cut. Some may also call these discs. Many people are in the market for that "Just Right" image for those weddings, like centerpieces or side tables. Morriss Wood LLC has noticed that many people would enjoy the centerpieces of a live edge round holding their flowers and items to display but prefer to avoid the cost and time it takes to obtain this. Our best approach is to provide the Rounds as close as possible to the event. This will allow the item to be slightly sanded or planed for a clean look while not cracked or checked. Much time and effort is needed to dry a Round and prevent one or both from happening.
