Seems like you're new to the MorningStar stuff- Lets help you understand the characters. These do get updated when Episodes come out, if there's information from their past.

Ember Paganini Brute

VA: Count Julius

"I’m in trouble with the most POWERFUL mafia’s boss, the don himself, Xavior, whos also kinda my ex but at the same time it was a situationship, so like I might be done for."

Ember is a 24 year old “Boarlin” who works as both a sex worker and an explosives expert. Ember goes by They/Them.

Ember is the main character of the series, as such, there must be a reason for that. right?

Ember was born on January 24th and was born to Armdeus and Sola. However, Sola died during childbirth so Ember grew up with just Armdeus and Fritz. Fritz wasn't the kindest person to them, as Fritz continually ridiculed them. This would evolve to abuse and torment after Ember turned 15. Later on in life, after a failed assassination attempt (after Fritz got caught S/Aing Ember), Fritz left the household, leaving Ember with Armdeus in the alps. Ember would then learn how to create pyrotechnics at around 20 years old. However, the parts for some things were too expensive, so Ember started working for Slickback during the nights to pay off loans. Shortly after this, they met Carl at a bar. Carl later introduced Ember to his adoptive grandson, Nacho(José). This then, formed the "Pact of God". The group was originally just a small gang who went dumpster diving and making more explosives. (This "Gang" was 3 people). Ember then met Xavior. Ember started to fall in love with him, so Ember started being around Xavior more. Ember then quickly realized who he was. Ember tried to run away and get the authorities involved, so therefore angering him and Ember had to go into hiding. Then, the Pact of God became dedicated to stealing things from the Heartsicks, and giving them to poorer, more unfortunate people. Ember is the head of this group and used to get intel from Ozzie before and after he became underboss. Ember has proven themselves to be a good leader. Maybe one day, Ember can have the life they deserve.

FACTS ABOUT EMBER

Ember can play the violin, so much so, Ember's middle name is "Paganini", which is a famous Italian violinist, often referred to as "The Devil's Violinist." This detail may or may not be very important.
Ember can dance extremely well. So much so, Slickback also has Ember as a pole dancer from time to time. Ember's actual skill in dance is in traditional or older dances.
Ember is Polysexual, Pansexual and Non-Binary Trans Masc. That seems like a handful, doesn't it? Well, I don't think it is.
Ember has been to high school; but dropped out after Grade 11. Our short story "Obsession" will tell you a lot as to why. The reason is not pretty, but the character description up there explains it in a less crazy way.
Ember is the first MorningStar character ever created; right after Fritz. Ember was also originally a human posing as a boarlin- oh, but then Ember went down the furry pipeline.. no regrets!
Ember can breathe underwater, surprisingly. Boarlins are able to do this because they actually evolved from the water. However, what they are not, is tolerant to the heat. Especially Ember.
Ember has dreams and aspirations of someday becoming a pilot, as they already have some knowledge to do so.
Ember will never truly be happy with themselves, always seeking love, admiration, or just somebody to cry with. Ember never really had the best support system, after all.

Jak Capo

VA: Melvin Polanco (TurgizeVA)

"Take it easy bub."

Jak is a 17 year old “Imp”. Jak is Xavior’s right hand man (Consigliere) and Bodyguard.

Jak Capo was born to Slim Franco Capo and Gloria Jules Capo around mid 2007, and at 5 years old, his family decided to take in Pengo and Mikel. Then, when Jak was 7, Liam. The boys were forced to go out and learn the ropes on how to be a proper mafioso at a young age. Jak had a very close relationship with his fragile mother, his father not so much. Jak's father, Slim, being a high profile gang leader, put Jak under a lot of stress and abuse. Around early 2019, somebody placed a bomb at Fritz’s birthday party and not only killed his mom with such a device, but also injured several others. The public believes that the attacks were from a rival gang. Jak relates to Ember in their hatred of Fritz. Jak sees his friends as his new family, still not trusting most besides Mikel, Liam, and Pengo. Not much is know else about Jak, as he's one of Xavior's top guys- his personal bodyguard, most are unsure on how he got the job until they become his target. What is known is, in August of 2023, he got into an altercation with Antonio Cadente during a drug deal. Jak came close to losing, but luckily Ozzie and Mikel, among others, were doing a hit job in the same area for somebody else. Jak strays away from forming close relationships due to his past, puts some sort of trust in Ozzie. What will Jak do with his new life under Xavior's leadership? That's quite unknown, for now at least.

FACTS ABOUT JAK

Jak's last name, "Capo" means "Boss" in Italian.
Jak is the youngest Consigliere and Caporegime in the Mafia. Actually, the youngest Mafia member in the country. He joined the Heartsick Mafia at 12 years old and became Consigliere when he turned 16.
Although Jak doesn't seem the brightest, he has an IQ of around 145.
Jak is very crafty, knowing how to make creations like weapons and technology just from scraps. He learnt most of these skills from Liam.
It might appear to most that Jak is not a threat, but the kid has some strength to him, not to mention that he's extremely agile.
He loves listening to music and frequently shares his favorites with Mikel and Pengo.
Jak HATES chocolate.
He's very good at baseball, but couldn't play due to him being in the mafia.
Jak makes Xavior illegally import human baseball games and music to watch/listen to in his free time. Fond of the New York Yankees.
Jak, Mikel and Pengo tried to start a band, however, they couldn't decide on a genre so they gave up.
Originally, Jak was to be a Imp AND a DINOSAUR. Great writing from our part.

Jessica Jizst

"I work my ass off for a million races .. and this is how you repay me? IS THIS HOW YOU REPAY ME? I'm a person too, Sage."

Jessica is a 23 year old “Tigrim” who is a professional speed skater. Jessica goes by She/Her.

Jessica: The fast and very furious speed-skater? How did she come to be? Well..

Jessica was born in 2001 to Pierre Jizst and Elois Jizst on a very sunny day. Unlike everybody in the main cast, she has absolutely zero trauma- that is- until she met Sage. More on that later. Jessica at the age of 6 quickly had a passion for skating, and around 13 she picked up speedskating as a hobby. She wins a few local tournaments, until she made it big when she won a huge national tournament. Who came knocking on her door for a deal? Sagewick. Sage is her manager and around 17 years old, he noticed her talent. He basically exploited her for money and tried to make her extremely marketable. She would always have to stay thin and look pretty for the camera. Although this isn't as bad as being in the literal mafia, its still good to note that having cameras in your face since 17 years old isn't the best thing. Many ask "Where were her parents?". Her parents are there- they just don't know the full extent of the deal. Sagewick pressures Jessica to make herself look like a model... which is quite stupid since she's already one of the greatest athletes in the Isles of Eden. Jessica is slowly starting to become fed up with his shit, and the contract is close to expiring. We are confident she won't renew that.

FACTS ABOUT JESSICA

Jessica's sexuality is Omnisexual - she has a preference for girls/femme presenting people
Her actual clothing style (of which she dresses in her free time), is Old Money
Jessica's skin isn't that light- its just makeup that Sage forces her to wear to look "marketable."
Jessica is too nice, if you somehow find a way to piss her off, you should probably just go screw.
One of the few main characters that has a good relationship with their family.
Jessica and Ozzie have a brother-sister relationship, and yes, that includes the bickering...

Xavior Heartsick

"I'm going to need that $300 NOW, or I'll carve up you and your 10 children for each PENNY YOU DON'T GIVE ME!"

Xavior is a 38 year old Stark. Xavior is the main antagonist of MorningStar and is the Don of the Heartsick Crime Family.

Xavior was born in 1986 to Booker and Ishya Heartsick. At first, his father hated him. He was left to roam around the streets- which is quite stupid as Xavior would frequently, as a child, be held for ransom. Until when he turned 10, he started recruiting people near him into the mobster lifestyle. His first ever friend- Fritz, encouraged him to do so. Xavior then stopped becoming the son that Booker never wanted, but something that Booker needed to pour his knowledge to. Slowly and surely, Xavior was groomed into becoming the most ruthless and cunning mafia don anybody has ever seen. He started to also long for one thing- love. He never really had love. Fritz offered to help him with that in various ways. He, however, was still empty inside. Longing for something, he finally paid a visit to a brothrel. Inside, he found a hooker. Ember. He quickly found himself gravitating towards Ember, not in the cutsey way- a very obsessive way. He, then, started to push the limits. Ember had enough and told him off. He didn't like that, so now, the boarlin who once charmed him (for money), was now public enemy number 1. Fritz says that he's doing the right thing, but is he really?

Ozias "Ozzie" Ascia

VA: Phantomsauce

Ozzie is a 27 year old “imp”. Ozzie works as Xavior’s underboss and he likes to use hatchets for his work.

Ozzie was born to a loving family sometime around 1998, he took interest in taking care of animals when his pet hamster almost died, because he left the cage open. Having this newfound passion, his Mom, 2 brothers and Dad scraped up enough money to help him get into a vetenarians school. He learnt how to take care of small birds, to giraffes, to anything that God created. However, his dreams were cut short, as shortly after he turned 18, he was drafted into the civil war by the very same school (that also was partnered with the communists at the time) taught him peace. He fought and fought, and when he got back, he found his animal sanctuary completely burnt down. Everything he worked for- gone. wasted. He then met Xavior, who promised to help him rebuild. He later met Ember, the two fell in love, but Ozzie realized that if he was with Ember, they would be in grave danger. He gave Ember one of his most prized axes, and left. They havent talked in a year (since the breakup). The scars on his face were caused when he decided he wanted to attend Fritz's birthday party. He should have known wiser. He was closest to the second bomb. While he did save Ember from majority of the impact, most of his skin is rather healed scar tissue, or completely gone (evident with his tail).

OZZIE FACTS

Although Ozzie has more dogs than cats in his home, he prefers cats due to their quiet nature.
He hates everyone in the Mafia. He has a soft spot for Jak and his friends though, still hates them.
Doesn't like using guns due to his time in war.
Likes to use the money he gains from the Mafia to donate to small charities, mainly to animal focused ones.
Ozzie handles death pretty terribly.
Ozzie hates salmon (the food). He wont elaborate on why.
Ozzie and Fritz have extensive beef, it stems from the day they met. Thats dedication.

Fritz Cadente

"You will always be reminded of me, Emberz, you cannot win this invisible war"

Fritz is a 39 year old Mimic/Harpy. Not a good man.

Fritz is Ember's half-brother.. but why does he hate Ember so much?

Fritz was born in good old 1985 on January 2nd to Armdeus and Jane Doe. (Before the incident) He quickly became a social person and by the time he was 9, he met the then 8 year old Xavior. Xavior quickly then introduced Fritz to the mafia and how it works. By the time Fritz was 10, he had already committed his first murder. Unfortunately, Fritz would start to stray away from his family, as Armdeus was busy with divorce due to Jane Doe wanting to see somebody else. By the time he was 15, Ember had entered his life. At first he tried to be nice to Ember, however, he quickly learned that Ember didn't want to join him in his new life of crime. Fritz then continuously tried to harass and harm Ember at any chance he got. Rather it be physical, verbal, or worse. His then boyfriend, Altair, had died in a shootout. Who shot who? Nobody is certain. When he turned 30, Fritz took off and confessed his "love" for Xavior, and the two quickly got into a serious relationship and married. Around 34 years old, Fritz got promoted to Caporegime and now spends most of his time organizing paperwork. However, in the past 10 years, he's been slowly taking more hold of the crime family. Who threatens his work, and who is he unhealthily obbessed with? Many people.

FRITZ FACTS

Fritz is a very, very skilled at coding and robotics. He's always looking to make something new.
Fritz enjoys singing in his freetime, usually when he's polishing guns or using people as targets.
Fritz is one of the only Caporegimes that people mistake for the Don, due to his intimidating stature.
Fritz's golden tooth was caused due to one of his teeth getting punched out by Ember. In retaliation, he tried ripping out Ember's heart. Luckily he was caught and kicked out of the house by Armdeus before things got bad.
Fritz's IQ is around 165, he uses his smarts for some of the most vile reasons. These reasons include: Stalking, Mental torture, Voyeurism, Disposing of bodies, Fashion and more. If you cross him, chances are, you're going to be a statistic sooner than later.
Him, Xavior, Luke and Shadow all lived in the same dorm during college.
Fritz and his previously mentioned roommates relentlessly bullied and targeted a strange kid during college, and killed him on accident. Fritz, completely drunk, decided to "Blood Eagle" him. He was hung from the top of the campus.. he didn't get caught, and made everyone believe the kid was a creep. Only his parents showed up to his funeral.
Fritz's birth name, Agilo, means "Garlic" in Italian. Its a not-so-fun easter egg if you know the *actual* reference..
He is an edgelord. Tumblr and A03 fears him

PACT OF GOD

Nacho - 15

VA: Saiftheva

Nacho, real name "Jose", was a lonely boy growing up. He was constantly in and out of foster care, as his bio mother died from childbirth, and his father shortly after, decided jumping off a bridge would reunite him with his wife. Nacho learnt to be resourceful while in and out of different families. He learnt how to read people before they even met him.

Carl - 75

VA: Daniel Bauzon

Carl's one of Ember's right hands. He was made ages ago during a spy operation by (human) communist forces. Carl was discontinued in the 90's after the USSR collapsed, he was thrown into the ocean. He found himself in the isles of eden, while most things freaked him out, he played it cool. He then was robbed and forced to join the Mafia, but he later found Nacho and both, in exchange for money, would steal from the mafia.

Vladimir Zoloto - 59

Vladimir is a rich dracula parrot. He is Ember's old friend and mentor. Best friends with Armdeus.

Having served in the Civil War (along side with Ozzie somehow), he's realized that he shouldn't take his riches for granted. He now eagerly awaits what path Ember goes down, as all he can do is watch (and give snarky advice.)

Armdeus - 89

Armdeus is Ember's Father. He is the only family that Ember has close to them. He was an archduke up until an incident that Fritz caused. Best friends with Vladimir

Having both of your loves rather leave you or die... isn't the greatest. Especially if your eldest son is, in your eyes, dead to you, and your middle son is missing, and your youngest is trying to find themself in a time where doing so could cost a life.. thats a big responsibility.

IN THE MAFIA

Mikel Angelozo - 17

VA: KaelusKRS

Jak and Pengo's best friend. He was born in heaven, but fell after a minor scuffle with good and evil. While many who did fall to earth, died, it was very lucky that Jak was having his birthday, and that there was a bouncy castle right where they were headed.

Mikel is usually right beside Jak when he's given a task by Fritz or Xavior. He makes for a great scout due to his flight. Paired with Jak's talents, they get their jobs done fast.

Pengo - 17

VA: Caraem Scott

The grim reaper's only son. Jak and Mikel's best friend. He cannot use his powers to kill anybody, nor interfere with death. Like Mikel, he was born in heaven, but fell after a minor scuffle with good and evil. Landed on Jak's bouncy castle right next to Mikel.

Pengo usually doesn't do much in the Mafia besides assist Jak on his missions, usually busy with you know... guiding the dead.

Megan Birdee - 41

Megan is Shank's fiancé, she's not only the mayor of "Bitch City" (Lawrence City), but also a soon-to-be caporegime! How exciting.

She finally learnt how to control her wings and soar- only to use it to shoot at people when shes angry. Such nice talent put to awful use. But, at the end of the day, she wants nothing more but to make sure that her fiancé is safe and sound.

Shank - 40

VA: Mirazeth

Shank is Megan's fiancé and will forfill your pharmaceutical needs. Need blood thinner? Yep.

Need a pill to stop your boyfriend from thinking straight so you can try to take his position? ..no. why would she have that?

Luke Bradford - 39

VA: ViperByte

Caporegime for the Heartsick Family. Imagine this: A man who looks dopey- but trust us, he is not who he seems.

Luke frequently gets info coming in from all different places- he's a big bank of information. Thats probably why his horns are so big- they're full of secrets.

However, the only person he ever responds to is rather his wife, Shadow, or his best friend, Fritz.

Shadow Ravensburg - 39

Caporegime for the Heartsick Family.

Being an artist, she has fine motor skills and a big imagination. How does this help her? Well, she's able to have a good eye for who can work well- and who cannot.

She also has a basic moral compass, unlike most of her coworkers.

Forel Moone- 22

VA: Addie Nofal

Forel is a gunmoll who has to put up with Fritz's bullshit. Constantly. She's really tired. Born from rich parents, she spends her days dreaming of what could have been if she didnt make the impulsive decision to join the Heartsicks. Maybe, she could have been a speedskater with Jessica. But one thing is certain: the only reminats of her family now, is Hubi.

Hubi Kat- 27

VA: Nicholas Conteras

Hubi absolutely hates the name that Fritz gave him. He had no hand in its naming. Hubi is quite morally grey- using his status to better everybody. He was created by powerful people as a sort of- super soilder. For revenge. However, gaining a soul, he quickly realized that his fate lied in killing whatever made him. Hubi always keeps his promises.

Ahmad Nott- 20

Fritz's 1# fanboy, everybody owes him $3. no clue why. What we do know is, he's a living shadow and he likes to stir up shit for no reason. His biggest threat is when Hubi realizes that you can punch shadowlings

Slickback - 42

VA: Max Herzfeld

Ember's Pimp, Sex Trafficker. Do not let him pull you in. He's a nasty man and will use money to lure in young women, men and basically anybody he thinks will draw in money. He dresses charismatic to seem like a friendly "ally" to those seeking sex work, or a "sugar daddy." Everybody ends up the same. Broken, confused, and hurt.

Booker Heartsick- 58

Booker is Xavior's father, currently locked up in a maximum security prison, but his sentence is almost up, and he will return soon.

Jesse Heartsick- 28

VA: Michael Gonzalez

Xavior's younger brother, while he looks like a hobo, he uses it to his advantage. His actually good clothes do not touch his drug work. That would be simply foolish.

Cameron Gryff - 30

The most annoying mobster ever. Please dont talk to him. Mikel tried that and he almost cried. He is more hated than Techy (hes not bad)- how does that happen?

Techy - 21

A random boarlin that Fritz decided was good enough for the mobster life. He is far from that. Everybody hates this guy. Not because he messes up, but because of his odd fashion choices. Weither you hate him or not, atleast he isnt Camy.

C4 - 37

Moth man, all he does is just... assasinate people. Hes quite silent, he doesnt need to speak to do a good job. His loyalties do not lie to Xavior, but to Fritz, who Fritz promised him riches if he submit to his will.

Connor Koolisun- 20

Rich kid who all he does is scam people out of houses. One of the residents in Bitch City, and Fritz's more, closer allies, he also runs the construction unions. Dont mess with him or he's going to call his dad

Vincenza - 28

She's one of Xavior's top assasins, coming in after Fritz. Vinny, as she's called, frequently has scuffles with Ember, but she really doesnt care. However, that 150 million does look enticing to her.

Derek is one of Xavior's good friends, and the only other crime family that has a (STABLE) pact with Xavior.

Festi Cadente - 19

Working as a stuntman in the carnival, he usually sends information to his father, Fritz, about others on specific lists. While he may not directly be in the mafia, he still contributes in his voyeuristic ways.

Arlecchino Cadente - 18

Fritz's..yk we stopped counting. Like Festi, hes not directly in the mafia. Working at the same carnival, using his pet own, Scemo, to find out where targets are.

Noel Cadente- 37, Last Seen at Home

VA: Lauren Kong

Noel is Fritz's ex-wife. She is extremely moody and controlling.. Like two peas in a pod. She has been missing for 5 years.

Andre - 34, Last Seen at Gala

VA: Melvin Polanco

The middle child of the Brute family, him being a marquis, he has many roles to forfill. He went off the rails after he heard about an incident between Ember and Fritz.

DECEASED

Liam Haartfelt- 15, Murdered

VA: Reece Bridger

The deceased member of Jak's group. Nobody knows who killed him, all except for Pengo. However, he wont reveal who, as he doesn't want to bring a burden onto the others.
He was a well trained weapon-smith before his parents were killed after getting caught in a mafia shootout. He was took in by Jak's parents after Jak found him alone on the streets.

Liam's autopsy reports that he was shot 10 times, before being stabbed 28 times. The killer, was close to being caught, but stayed one step ahead when he was spotted. Liam was still alive, but died bleeding out in the snow. Surrounded by nobody. He died a few weeks before Jak became Consigliere.

He was also an aspiring inventor, and taught Jak how to create something from nothing.

Antonio Cadente - 20, Murdered

VA: Daniel J. Mclean

Antonio is Fritz's eldest son. He was sniped by Ozzie because Antonio was going to kill Jak.

Fritz, at his funeral, didnt cry once. He instead whispered into whatever what was left of him, and said how much Antonio dissapointed him, and how "He'd put the condom on if he had known how much of a failure he was."

His brothers, however, gave him buttons and their guns as a sign of respect. Antonio, afterall, was just doing his job. Even Artic, who is notorius for hating Antonio, wept like a bitch, literally.

Slim - 62, Murdered

VA: Martin Weston

Slim was Jak's father. While not dying straight away, somebody came back to him moments after Mrs. Capo died- and made sure he was dead.

He was an abusive father, and only cared about Jak and Mrs.Capo if it benefitted him. He basically completely ignored the boys he took in, except for when they could help him with his dirty work. Greed consumed him- and karma had other plans.

His mafia family was then absorbed into the much stronger Heartsick family, rendering him a tale lost to time.

Mrs. Capo - 56, Explosion

VA: Justine Leah

Mrs. Capo was Jak's Mother. She is a caring soul. She would always sheild Jak from the gravity of the situation he was born into. While not speaking much, she always made sure her precious son was always safe, even if it costed her life.

Jak still feels guilty for surviving. He looks up at the sky and wonders, "Why couldn't have been me?", as he holds the bloodied rosary that was supposed to be a 13th birthday gift to Jak, all those years ago..

Jak feels responsible for her death, even though it wasnt his or her fault. It was just an accident, they hope.

Solá - 57, Child-Birth

VA: Vanessa Benoit

Sola is Ember's mother. She was royalty up until an incident that Fritz caused. She died to childbirth, as giving birth at her age was a risky endeavor.

She wanted nothing more but for everybody to be happy, she wanted Fritz to straighten up to be a kind person- and for Ember to have a good life, as for her death to not be in vain.

Altair Cadente - 29, Murdered

This pastor was murdered in a shootout between him, Fritz and Xavior. who shot who? Nobody knows.

He died trying to avenge Ember for the abuses Fritz caused, and he paid the ultimate price for it. All we know is that he is one with the moon and heavens now, and Fritz looks up to him every night. Altair is 100% disgusted by him.

GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS

Sarge Clockmann - 65

VA: Eric Sheffield

Sarge is the biggest dictator known to man. He ran for the communist party after he realized that the monarchy was failing, so he came up with a plot. This plot, however, didnt follow through, as the monarchy fell due to infighting before he had to lift a finger.

Demarcus Jonas - 32

VA: RazorWuff

Jonas is the vice president of the Yakis region. Helps Clockmann with everything. However, he has more democratic views than Sarge has. Could cause conflict.

OTHERS

Violet - 29

VA: Vynvox

Violet is Jaidens's best friend. the two are some of the few police that havent been corrupted by Xavior. She sometimes asks herself: Was joining the force a good idea in the first place?

Jaiden - 30

VA: TBA

Jaiden is Violet's best friend. the two are some of the few police that haven't been corrupted by Xavior. He's commonly seen doing paperwork or playing pool. Does not take his job seriously.

Gaston - 60

VA: Dontae Majors

Major General in the Yakis army. He is very skilled and will not hesitate to do what he can to reach objectives. Jessica's Uncle. He carries out his work quite finely. He never seems to fail.

Jane Doe - 64
