From producing television news stories to jotting notes in my journal, I believe using words to tell stories fulfills my mission in life: to give everyone an equal voice.
I started working at my hometown's local television station, WJFW Newswatch 12, in October 2019. At that time I was still in high school. I worked as an apprentice from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the news station, operating the audio board during the morning news. From there, I moved to being part-time and then full-time as a reporter. Interviewing, filming, writing, editing, and producing were part of my daily tasks.
I've interviewed just about every type of person. This includes local, state, and national politicians, as well as Olympians, artists, kids, inmates, county court judges, farmers, teachers, florists, the list goes on.
Communicating with people is a talent of mine, whether it’s on television, in person, or through social media platforms.
I post all of my news stories on a daily basis on multiple social media platforms, which include wjfw.com, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
Telling stories within the world of art, fashion, lifestyle, politics, sports, and criminal justice are my main interests.
I'm currently attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing a degree in Journalism with a focus on Strategic Communication and certificates in Digital Studies and Digital Media Analytics.
In Madison I am the Public Relations Director and a Contributing Fashion Writer for Moda Magazine, the University's life and style publication. See some of my recent articles in the "work" tab.
I completed an internship in Summer 2023 as a Communications & Marketing Intern at Foremost Farms USA, headquartered in Middleton.
My role included drafting social media posts, which consisted of topic ideas, captions and a graphic design element. I also launched my own communications campaign that went to external and internal audiences. The campaign included a press release, social media posts and a feature article. I also acted as the on-site reporter for the internship program to promote the work the interns did and gain more interest from future interns.
