Dr. Mooring is a Professor of Chemistry at Georgia State University.

She is a native of Trinidad and Tobago. She received her Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Morgan State University, an HBCU in Baltimore, Maryland. She received an MS in Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology and then a Ph.D in Organic Chemistry from Georgia State University under the direction of Professor Binghe Wang.

After a 2 year postdoctoral fellow in the Fellowships in Research and Science Teaching (FIRST) program at Emory University School of Medicine, she began her faculty career at Georgia State University in 2010.
