RT Moondog

Roy Moondog Temkin grew up in Brooklyn, NY, where he discovered his music one day in the schoolyard of P.S. 219. An impromptu accapella version of The Beatles ”If I Fell” with a couple of other scruffy teenagers led to the formation of his first band “The Clai Pipes” (that REALLY was the name). One thing led to another, Bands came and went and after seeing John Sebastian performing in Greenwich Village at the Bitter End, Roy arrogantly decided that he could play solo too - so he did.  After performing in clubs all around the Northeast for many years he hung up the guitar for a career in Graphic Arts in order to support a family. The kids grew up, left home and the itch to play again needed to be scratched. Roy formed a band called Moondog after listening to The Band’s album Moondog Matinee, which was all covers of mostly obscure R & R songs from the 1950’s.  A good time was had by all but it came to an end when Roy moved to Southern California in order to be near his kids (again), who had both moved to El Lay. Fast Forward – and here we are today with the great Moondog Miller Band and Slowhand. The hope is that the music will go on and on.

Jammin’ Jan Miller

Coming from a musical family, Jan has always been surrounded by great music. First as a concert bassoonist and then after witnessing The Beatles groundbreaking appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, he knew rock and roll guitar was for him. This led to years of playing and performing in successful Rock, Country, and Blues bands throughout the Midwest, Southwest, and West Coast.

His love of musical performance also led him to a successful career as a recording engineer and music producer, as well as a global live event producer. He’s worked with many top name entertainers as producer, video director, and audio engineer.

Presently, he’s devoting his creative energy to the Moondog Miller Band and Slowhand as lead guitarist and vocalist.

While in college at Colorado State University, Dave majored in Biology and studied classical upright bass playing with David Potter, who was a bassist with the Denver Symphony Orchestra. In 1973, he joined a Colorado band called Cunningham Corner.

The Cunningham Corner band became very popular in Colorado and went on to perform at many of the top music venues in the USA, opening shows for Billy Joel, The Kingston Trio, Roger McGuinn, the Stan Getz Trio, Elvin Bishop, Asleep at the Wheel, Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys amongst many others.
