An ironic interactive mock election where audience participants vote for honey bees or wax moths. Complete with video and poster elements.

There's this species of moth known as the wax moth. The idea is they lay their eggs inside beehives. When the eggs hatch, the larvae tunnel through the hives eating the wax — hence the name — and also pollen, bee larvae, and whatever else they find. They leave these trails of sticky white threads that render the hives uninhabitable.

The bees do not like the wax moths, but they can only infiltrate a hive which is poorly maintained — otherwise the bees will destroy the eggs before they hatch, or they won't get in at all. They are a symptom of decay, not the initial cause.

2023. It is election year in Aotearoa New Zealand. The government buildings include The Beehive. The wax moths are an alt-right trying to take over from a complacent left.
