Sound the horns and call the cry! How many fighters for Champion will vie?

We seek warriors to display their skill and test the mettle of those who would fight for the mantle of Dragonslayer!

For those that wish to vie for the Montengarde Champion of Sword to please contact HE Bjar the Blue with their intent by June 15th top discuss our expectations of Champion.

In recognition of our close history with the shires of Ayresgarde and Windwyrm, we would open the lists to include them as well. No membership is required to enter, only a willingness to champion the field of Armored Combat as best you can and to find a successor when your time is done.

We also strongly encourage them to seek a good processional Herald for a Dragonslayer tradition ...

Words from the Dragonslayer

The time has come! The tournament where the mantle of Dragonslayer will be earned.

Tournament will be a progressive holmgang style. There will be 3 rings. Knights will start in the black ring, squires will start in the red ring, all non belted fighters will start in the white ring. Each ring if effectively a bear pit. Only those fights that are won in the white ring will be counted for tournament champion and Dragonslayer. To progress up from black to red and up to white, you must win your fight in each ring. A defeat will see you move down 1 ring. Double kill = both fighters retire to a lower ring and 2 new fighters are selected. Once in the white ring, the victor may only reside in the white ring for 4 glorious victories where by they retire down two rings (to the black) to earn their spot in the white ring again. The top 2 fighters vying with the most victories will meet in double elimination combat.

I am looking for a list person to handle the fighter registration, check fight authorization cards and tally the fighters wins in the white ring. Fighters need not report to the table.

I am looking for 3 Marshall’s, one for each ring. The white ring will be announced at each change of combatant so the list person can track wins effectively. These 3 Marshall’s will be conducting fighter inspections. If you wish to learn how to be a marshal, please PM me and I can provide guidance.
