Paint It Forward: Creating Hope, One Room at a Time

Lisa Maurer of Farm Girl Finds believes that furniture holds stories—and sometimes, hope. Years ago, she refinished a cherished china cabinet for a woman battling cancer, helping her pass on a beloved family heirloom just days before she passed. With her own mother also fighting cancer at the time, that moment sparked the beginning of Paint It Forward — a mission rooted in compassion, community, and kindness.

Now, Lisa is teaming up with House of Neighborly Service (HNS) and The Back Porch (TBP) to bring Paint It Forward to life once again! 

Together, they will gift one deserving person or family in Monroe County a room makeover — including fresh paint, refinished furniture, and beautiful décor — creating a space that represents hope, comfort, and a fresh start.
