Monroe Pediatrics is a designated Patient-Centered Medical Home. We expect all our patients to not be seen by multiple PCP’s to maintain continuity of care. If this occurs, patients will need to choose one provider to remain an established patient with.
Our office offers same day/next day appointments for sick visits, parental/patient concerns, and wellness visits.
If your child's symptoms (fever, cough, ear pain, sore throat, etc.) started the same day, it is best to wait 1-2 days before making an appointment as it can be too soon for the patient to be diagnosed.
Urgent care or Emergency Room
If you have concerns or your child is sick, please call our office before going to urgent care or the ER.
If you do go, please let them know that you're our patient so they can send the visit summary to the office.
If you go to urgent care or the ER, call us to schedule a follow-up in 1-2 days after visit.
If patient is having thoughts of suicide or harming themself/someone else, they need to go to the ER immediately.
We do our best to accommodate requested appointment times, but sometimes we cannot guarantee that time will be available.
Call our office in the morning for the best chance to get an appointment at your preferred time.
During the school year, late afternoon appointments typically fill faster than others.
4. Continuously cancelling/rescheduling appointments will result in same day appointment scheduling only until told otherwise.
5. Wellness visits/sports physicals can be done at the same time. If your child is doing or planning on doing sports you should wait until at least April 15 to schedule an appointment as it will cover all sports for the next school year.
If your child has Meridian, Medical Mutual, or Aetna insurance, they must wait a full year until they can have a check up. Other insurances are once in a calendar year, date does not matter.
This does not include patients Newborn-3 years of age
6. Insurance PCP must be changed to Dr. Fatima Hassan before seeing. Many insurances refuse to pay for visits if the PCP is not changed so it is best to have it changed no matter what the insurance is.
To ensure a positive and productive healthcare experience for all patients and staff, we have established the following discharge policies. Violation of these policies may result in dismissal from the practice for the entire family.
1. Missed appointments: missing 3 or more appointments without contacting our office.
2. Respectful Conduct: We expect everyone to treat our staff and other patients with respect. Rude or disruptive behavior, including harassment, yelling, bullying, or swearing will not be tolerated.
3. Equal Care: Respect all regardless of color/race, ethnicity, religion, financial status, age, gender, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristics. Discrimination will not be tolerated
4. Patient/Doctor relationship is compromised
● Not keeping up with appointments as advised
● Refusing check ups
● Switching doctors
5. Transitioning from pediatric care: patients who are 19+ will need to find a new doctor for adult care. We can help with recommendations.
6. Billing issues
● Unpaid balance/failing to make payments
● Failure to provide correct insurance
● Failure to add patient to insurance plan in a timely manner
● Coordination of benefits (COB) is not updated and insurance is refusing to pay claims.
Effective June 1, 2025, our office will no longer be accepting new patients whose parents or guardians choose not to vaccinate their children according to the CDC/AAP recommended immunization schedule.
*** (Disclaimer: Established patients that don’t vaccinate will not be discharged. Policy only affects new patients)
Any forms that are needed to be reviewed and signed by one of our providers, must have the parent/patient portion completed along with the patient's name and date of birth.
1. Forms can take 2-3 days to be reviewed and signed. Please try to plan accordingly and not wait until the last minute as we cannot guarantee it can be filled out the same day.
● Sports Physicals
● Health Appraisals
● Medication forms
2. If you have FMLA paperwork that needs to be filled out, please allow the provider 1-2 weeks to complete as it takes more time to review.
3. If you are referred to a specialist by one of our providers, it may take 3-4 days to send the referral. You will receive a call when completed.
Providers have 2-3 days to send prescriptions to the pharmacy. Most prescriptions are sent the same day, but please call a couple days prior to running out of meds before requesting a refill just in case the provider is unable to send at the time.
2. Prescriptions cannot be sent if...
