Mónica García-Pérez
Welcome!
I am the Distinguished Professor of Economics at Fayetteville State University in the MMEF Department at the Broadwell College of Business and Economics.
I am a Research Associate at the S.B. Cook Center of Social Equity at Duke University and the Roy Wilkins Center at the University of Minnesota, where I am working on my research, designing new projects on structural racism and health, and have led the teaching of the courses on Research Methods on Social Inequality and Microeconomics for Public Policy. I am also an External Affiliate at the UNC-Carolina Population Center.
My specialization is in Health and Labor Economics, and I focus on the role of public policies in social mobility, immigrant assimilation, discrimination, and reducing the impact of health shocks on wealth among minority groups. My research also looks at the intergenerational effects of barriers to access to health care and health coverage across race/ethnicity and nativity.
