About Me

My name is Heather Janes and I established Monarch Dementia Caregiver Services, LLC. in 2021 to serve residents in and around South Dakota. My goal is to assist you and your care recipient to maintain a good quality of life during the whole life spectrum. I provide quality resources in education, support, and training so you and your care recipient can feel comfortable on this journey with all the right supports in place.

As the owner, I bring over twenty years of experience working with the aging population, specializing in persons living with memory loss, Alzheimer's, and related dementias, and their care partners. I have been a caregiver and trainer and have guided many caregivers along the way, including my friends and family. I am knowledgeable in the various causes of dementia, including but not limited to: Alzheimer's Disease, Lewy Body Dementia, Vascular Dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia, Parkinson's Dementia, and Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome. I also sit on the board of directors for the Alzheimer's Association-South Dakota Chapter. I am an affiliate with Resense Box (check out the resource page for more information!)

Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) 8/26/2022- 8/26/2024 through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. CDP Certification Number: 269822

My previous experience as a Dementia Care Specialist through the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Jefferson County, Wisconsin, solidified my passion and dedication to helping persons living with cognitive impairments on their journey. Many years of working with intellectually disabled individuals in a sheltered workshop environment also taught me that there are many creative ways to encourage healthy and active lifestyles.
