MRRA Survey
Mohican Regent Residents Association
Neighborhood Survey
The Mohican Regent Residents Association (“MRRA”) is a grassroots neighborhood organization that was created more than 60 years ago with the mission to create neighborhood cohesion and encourage community. Although the landscape has changed, in ways both positive and negative, our mission ultimately remains the same.
After 60 years of cycles of economic downturns, blight, depopulation, a city that struggled through bankruptcy and other elements that have persistently competed with MRRA’s vision of a healthy, productive and thriving community, we are still here. Some of the faces have changed, the mission hasn’t. We will continue to work to make MRRA a thriving, healthy and desirable neighborhood where we can all live, work, play, and raise our children.
We are now a 501(c)3 organization, and reflecting on the realities of how we live today; we realize how MRRA must expand our mission to more multi-faceted. Many of our friends in the MRRA community need the support of their neighbors. One of our many goals is to identify and help put in place sustainable solutions that work for our neighborhood to create a safe, healthy environment. This requires some degree of change in how we perceive where we are and how, what and where we imagine we want to be. Today, we are working to reimagine how we impact the MRRA community to help bring back the vibe of a thriving neighborhood that demonstrates pride in where we are. But in order to do that, we need to hear from the neighbors who make up our community.
That’s you.
This survey establishes a benchmark of the perceptions of the residents of the MRRA community and will provide a foundation for an action plan. The survey will also help to inform the future projects and programming we initiate in service to the community.
As a resident of the Mohican Regent community, your input is vital to ensure we are all walking in the same direction and responding to the neighborhood that many of us grew up in and where we are now raising our children. Whether you are a homeowner, renter, new resident or small business owner, a plan that works for everyone is the genesis of a successful plan.
This survey will ask you of your impression/perception of the following topics:
Sense of community
Safety
Youth Activities and Programs
Engagement
Quality of life/resources in the neighborhood
We are asking you to please complete and return this survey by August 31st. Your responses will help us identify and address some of the challenges we face in the MRRA community while promoting and encouraging positive programming and elevating the best aspects of our neighborhood to help improve the community at large.
