Since 2019, the garden has been a labor of love for Mohican Regent members but, no one has dedicated more blood, sweat, tears and cash than Wendy Edwards, the brainchild behind the garden.
Wendy, along with MRRA President George Preston, Vice President Tom Slone and the MRRA Board Members, worked tirelessly to transform this once beaten down lot filled with trash, used needles and condoms and was once a popular hangout for drug addicts and prostitutes into a oasis in the neighborhood.
MRRA board members and with the help of Camp Restore, did the bulk of the heavy lifting. Today, it includes a foot bridge, a garden shed, benches and raised beds for vegetables; a culmination of two years of hard work!
We are always looking for volunteers to help maintain the garden.
If you are interested in lending a hand to help maintain the garden and help to keep it a great space for the Mohican Regent neighborhood, please let us know at mohicanregent1@gmail.com.
