The Mohican Regent Residents Association (MRRA) is dedicated to revitalizing and stabilizing our community and creating an environment where we can all live, work, thrive and contribute to an improved quality of life for the entire neighborhood.
Together, we are a united force whose mission is to promote the health and safety of the neighborhood. Thanks to the commitment of our residents, local businesses, churches and schools the MRRA serves as a catalyst to bring together the entire community, reduce crime by serving as the eyes and ears of our neighborhood, and promote the health and safety of our community.
Through collaboration and partnership with nonprofit organizations such as Camp Restore, LifeBUILDERS, the Osborn Neighborhood Alliance and Black Family Development, the MRRA has initiated projects and programs that encourage the engagement of our residents throughout the Mohican Regent community. These programs include beautification and place making initiatives to enhance our community's physical space, blight remediation including building demolition and clean up, remediation and revitalization of vacant properties throughout the neighborhood.
Some of our accomplishments that have impacted the Mohican Regent community include:
The George Preston Community Park
The Mohican Regent Residents Association's "George Preston Community Park", at the northwest corner of E. State Fair and Anvil Streets; had a Grand Opening on July 19, 2025! This will be another gathering spot, walking park and outdoor rental space for events ($50 deposit, and proof of Mohican Regent residency is required).
Adoption/Caretaking of Edmore/Marbud Park
This adoption resulted in the installation of new playground equipment, a walking path and the addition of fencing. We work in cooperation with the city of Detroit to help maintain the park.
The Mohican Regent Community Garden
The garden is located at 14660 Eastburn, just off Gratiot. The park is an ongoing labor of commitment from the MRRA and serves as a gathering spot for Mohican Regent residents for community events. The garden also grows vegetables that available to residents.
