This Privacy Policy explains how the macOS app AI Chatbot: Ask AI Anything (the “App”) handles your information. The App is developed and operated by Mohammad Shaheer (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

You do not need an account to use the App. We do not ask for your name, email address, or password.
Your chat history is stored locally on your Mac.
To provide AI responses, the App sends your messages to OpenAI. This happens only after you accept the in-app AI data-sharing notice.
We collect limited analytics and crash data to maintain and improve the App.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Your conversations, generated text, images, and app settings are stored locally on your Mac. We do not operate a separate database of your chats and cannot directly access conversations stored locally on your device.
You can delete chats within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes its locally stored data to the extent that macOS deletes the associated application data. Backups or other copies may remain.
The App's AI features are provided through the OpenAI API. Before any data is sent to OpenAI, the App displays a notice explaining the data sharing and asks for your permission.
If you do not grant permission, no messages are sent to OpenAI, and features that depend on the OpenAI API will not work.
When you use an AI feature, the App sends OpenAI the following information as applicable:
The text you type or paste and earlier messages in the same conversation, to provide context.
Text you submit to the Humanizer, Copy Writer, Idea Generator, or Content Writer tools.
Your image prompts when you use image creation.
Your search question when you use web search.
We do not intentionally send your name, email address, or device identifiers to OpenAI as part of these API requests.
OpenAI processes this information under its own terms and privacy policies. According to OpenAI's API data policies, data submitted through the API is not used to train its models by default, unless the customer explicitly opts in. OpenAI may retain certain data for a limited period for abuse monitoring, subject to its applicable policies and settings.

Please do not enter sensitive personal information, such as health information, financial details, or government identification numbers, into the App.
You can withdraw your permission for AI data sharing at any time through the App's Settings. After you withdraw permission, the App will stop sending new requests covered by that permission. Information already transmitted remains subject to OpenAI's applicable data-retention policies.
All purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple Account.
We do not receive or store your payment card details. We receive or access only the subscription-status information necessary to unlock Premium features.
Purchases and subscriptions are subject to Apple's applicable terms and policies.
The App uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google, to understand app usage, diagnose technical issues, and improve stability.
Depending on the services and their configuration, these tools may collect:
An app-specific identifier.
Approximate location, such as country or region, potentially derived from an IP address.
Product interaction data, such as which features are opened.
Crash logs, technical information, and performance data.
We do not intentionally use this information for advertising or share it with data brokers. We aim to use analytics and crash data only to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the App.

Analytics data is intended to be retained for up to 14 months, subject to the applicable service configuration and retention settings. Crash reports may have separate retention periods.
We do not display advertisements in the App or use advertising identifiers for advertising purposes.
We do not intentionally track you across other apps or websites for advertising purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
We do not use your conversations to train our own AI models.
These statements describe our practices and do not exclude technical data processing by third-party service providers as described in this policy.
Chats: Your chats remain on your Mac until you delete them or the associated local application data is removed.
Analytics data: Analytics data is intended to be retained for up to 14 months, subject to the applicable Firebase settings. Crash reports may follow separate retention periods.
Information sent to OpenAI: Information already transmitted to OpenAI is subject to OpenAI's applicable retention and deletion policies. Deleting a chat from the App does not necessarily delete information previously sent to OpenAI.
To request deletion of analytics data or other information that we can reasonably identify and control, email supportmshaheer@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK, or California, you may have the right to:
Access your personal information.
Correct inaccurate personal information.
Request deletion of your personal information.
Request a copy of certain personal information.
Object to or request restrictions on certain processing.
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Where applicable, our legal bases for processing include:
Consent: Sending your messages to OpenAI after you grant permission for AI data sharing.
Legitimate interests: Maintaining the App's security, diagnosing crashes, and improving reliability, where these interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.
The App is rated 18+ and is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18. If you believe a child has used the App or provided personal information through it, please contact supportmshaheer@gmail.com.
We will review the request and take appropriate steps to delete information that we can identify and control, subject to applicable legal requirements.
OpenAI and Google may process information in the United States and other countries where they or their service providers operate.
Where required by applicable law, these providers use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information. For further details, please review their respective privacy policies and terms.
If we change this Privacy Policy, we will publish the updated version on this page and update the policy wherever it is made available. Important changes will also be communicated inside the App where appropriate or required by law.
