There are however, limitations and risks to using magnetic signs, as well as the important care and maintenance requirements

Below are 6 steps to take care of and maintain your magnetic car signs:

1. The surfaces between the magnet and the vehicle must be kept clean and dry -
   If any moisture builds up between the magnet and vehicle it can create a chemical reaction over time and when this occurs, it will be almost impossible to remove the magnet in one piece. The paint on the car can then also be scratched very easily.

2. The magnet must be perfectly flat on the vehicle -
   Contours and trimming can prevent a magnet from lying perfect flat against the surface of the vehicle. If the magnets are not flat, wind can catch under the magnet and rip it off the vehicle.

3. Use care when removing magnets from vehicle -
   Lift a corner and peel magnet carefully from the vehicle surface. Extreme temperature can change the qualities of the magnet making it either brittle or highly pliable. Use care as these conditions make it easy to tear or break the magnet. Sliding or repositioning the magnet on an unclean surface may cause scratches or abrasion if there is dirt or particulates under the magnet.

4. Store unused magnets flat and avoid extreme temperatures -
   If magnets need to be rolled for storage, roll them around a cardboard tube. Before use, unroll and store flat at room temperature until magnets return to a flat shape.

5. Remove magnets before driving at a high speed -
   Vehicle Magnets can fly off vehicles traveling at high speeds. If the magnet is not securely attached to the vehicle at all edges, wind can catch under the magnet and rip it off the vehicle. This can create a hazard on the road.

6. Remove the magnets before using an automatic car wash -
   Car wash brushes can damage the magnet or slide it against the vehicle surface causing abrasion or scratching of paint.
