No Data Collection by modcore

modcore does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Every core feature is designed to operate locally on your device, ensuring your privacy remains fully protected. Our commitment to zero data collection applies regardless of whether you use online or offline features. Privacy Policy

How Internet-Dependent Features Work

When you use online features, modcore sends secure API requests to GitHub's servers to fetch necessary data - such as extension metadata, update information, and repository details. These requests originate directly from your browser and contain no personal identifiers from modcore.

Third-Party Data Handling

While modcore does not collect your information, GitHub may process limited technical data as part of standard API operations. This typically includes your IP address, request timestamps, and query parameters. GitHub's handling of this data is governed by their own Privacy Statement.

To minimize exposure to third-party tracking, modcore employs several protective measures:

Requests are constructed to reduce identifying metadata. Retrieved data is cached locally on your device for a limited time, reducing repeat API calls and network footprint. This caching strategy makes systematic tracking by external services significantly more difficult without impacting functionality.

All cached data remains on your local machine and is automatically refreshed or purged according to time-based expiration rules. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser storage for the extension.

Rate Limiting

GitHub enforces rate limits on API usage. If too many requests originate from your network in a short period - whether from modcore EM or other tools - GitHub may temporarily block further requests. When this occurs, online features will pause until the limit resets, typically within one hour.

During any rate limit period, all local features will continue working normally.
