Patreon & Payment Terms

These Patreon & Payment Terms ("Terms") govern your financial support of modcore through Patreon, your access to Patreon-exclusive content and benefits, and your use of any membership-related services provided by modcore.

By becoming a modcore Patreon member, making a payment, or accessing Patreon-exclusive content, you agree to these Terms, our EULA, our Privacy Policy, and any applicable Patreon terms and policies.

We want these Terms to be clear: supporting modcore gives you access to the benefits associated with your membership. It does not give you ownership of modcore, its intellectual property, its projects, or its Patreon content.


1. Eligibility & Voluntary Support

You must be at least 18 years old to financially support modcore through Patreon.

By becoming a member, you confirm that:

Your payment does not:

Membership benefits are provided as part of the membership and do not change the ownership of modcore's intellectual property.


2. Patreon as the Payment Provider

Patreon handles the payment and subscription process for modcore Patreon memberships.

If you have a problem with a payment being processed by Patreon, you may need to resolve the issue through Patreon.

Nothing in these Terms makes modcore responsible for failures, outages, delays, or errors caused solely by Patreon or another third-party payment provider.


3. Information Used to Provide Membership Benefits

To provide and manage Patreon benefits, modcore may receive or access limited information associated with your Patreon membership.

Depending on the features you use, this may include:

We do not require or intentionally access your physical address or telephone number for ordinary Patreon membership benefits.

Your information is handled according to our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection laws, including the GDPR where applicable.

We only use information reasonably necessary to operate, administer, secure, and provide the Patreon membership and its benefits.


4. Membership Tiers, Pricing & Benefits

Patreon membership tiers may provide benefits such as:

Benefits are described as accurately as reasonably possible. However, some benefits involve software or content that is still being developed.

We do not guarantee that a particular experimental feature, release, post, update, or benefit will be delivered by a particular date—or at all.

Changes to benefits do not retroactively change the terms that applied to a payment that has already been made.


5. Membership Access & Cancellation

Your access to membership benefits generally depends on having an active and eligible Patreon membership.

You may cancel your membership through Patreon according to Patreon's cancellation process.

Unless otherwise stated by Patreon or required by applicable law:

Cancelling your membership does not grant you a permanent license to continue accessing newly published Patreon-exclusive content.

Content you lawfully downloaded while you had access remains subject to the license and restrictions that applied to that content.


6. Ownership of Patreon Content & Intellectual Property

6.1 General Ownership

All content published, distributed, uploaded, or otherwise made available by modcore through Patreon is owned by modcore or its applicable licensors, unless a specific license or third-party ownership notice explicitly states otherwise.

This includes, without limitation:

Your membership does not transfer ownership of Patreon Content to you.

Paying for a membership does not mean that you have purchased the underlying intellectual property.

6.2 Open-Source Software

Some Patreon Content may consist of software that is released under an open-source license.

Where an open-source license applies, that license controls the rights granted to you for the applicable software.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove rights that you receive under a valid open-source license.

However, Patreon-exclusive material surrounding that software—including unreleased builds, private development material, proprietary assets, private documentation, or other content—may be subject to these Terms and may not be covered by the software's open-source license.

6.3 Third-Party Content

Some Patreon Content may contain material owned or licensed by third parties.

Third-party material remains subject to its applicable license or ownership terms.

You must not assume that because something appears on modcore's Patreon, you automatically receive permission to reuse third-party material.


7. License to Access Patreon Content

When you have legitimate access to Patreon Content, modcore grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use that content for your personal, non-commercial purposes, unless a separate license explicitly grants broader rights.

This license does not transfer ownership.

Unless explicitly permitted by modcore or an applicable open-source/third-party license, you may not:

Paying for access does not give you the right to redistribute what you accessed.


8. Patreon-Exclusive & Confidential Content

Some Patreon Content may be intentionally released to members before the public or exclusively to members.

Unless modcore explicitly states otherwise, Patreon-exclusive material should be treated as private to the membership community.

You must not intentionally leak, publish, or distribute unreleased Patreon Content outside the permitted Patreon membership environment.

9. Software, Early Access & Experimental Releases

Patreon may provide access to beta, preview, experimental, or otherwise unfinished software.

Such software may:

You should not rely on experimental software for critical tasks or use it as the only copy of important data.

The applicable EULA provides additional terms concerning software use, warranties, disclaimers, and liability.


10. Community Rules & Acceptable Conduct

Membership does not give you permission to abuse, harass, threaten, exploit, or disrupt modcore, its team, other members, or its community spaces.

We may restrict or terminate access to membership benefits if you engage in conduct including:

We may also take reasonable security measures when necessary to protect our services, content, members, or infrastructure.


11. Suspension or Termination of Access

modcore may suspend or terminate your access to Patreon-exclusive benefits when reasonably necessary, including where you:

Termination of access does not automatically create a right to a refund.

If termination occurs because of a serious violation of these Terms, we may deny refunds to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

12. Chargebacks, Payment Disputes & Fraud

Please contact us before initiating a payment dispute when the issue concerns a modcore membership or benefit. We would rather resolve a genuine problem directly and fairly.

However, knowingly submitting a false, fraudulent, or bad-faith chargeback or payment dispute may result in:

This section does not prevent you from exercising a legitimate legal or consumer right to dispute a transaction.


13. Refunds

We want Patreon membership to be straightforward and fair.

Because Patreon controls payment processing, refunds are generally processed through Patreon.

13.1 Refund Requests

You may contact us about a refund, particularly if:

We review requests individually and may consider the circumstances, whether the benefits were already accessed, and whether the request appears genuine.

13.2 Requests That May Be Declined

13.3 EU Consumer Rights

If you are an EU consumer, mandatory consumer-protection laws may provide you with a statutory right of withdrawal for certain purchases or digital services.

For digital content, applicable law may allow the withdrawal right to end when performance begins, where the required conditions—including any required express consent and acknowledgement—have been satisfied.

Where applicable, Patreon may be responsible for obtaining and recording the relevant consent during its checkout process.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove a statutory consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

14. No Guarantee of Continuous Availability

We make reasonable efforts to keep Patreon benefits available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, modcore will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from your Patreon membership or use of Patreon Content.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, modcore's total liability arising from a Patreon-related claim will not exceed the amount you paid to modcore through Patreon during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

This limitation does not apply where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

16. Third-Party Services

Patreon and other third-party services may be required to provide certain membership benefits.

modcore is not responsible for the independent operation, policies, availability, or security of third-party services.

Your use of third-party services may also be governed by their own terms and policies.

Examples include Patreon, Discord, GitHub, hosting providers, payment processors, and other services used to deliver particular benefits.


17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when necessary, including to reflect:

For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice where appropriate.

If you do not agree with an updated version of these Terms, you may cancel your membership.

Your continued membership after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.


18. No Transfer of Membership

Your Patreon membership and its associated benefits are personal to you.

You may not sell, transfer, rent, lend, sublicense, or otherwise transfer your membership or membership access to another person.

You must not allow another person to use your Patreon account or membership for the purpose of obtaining benefits they are not otherwise entitled to receive.


19. No Ownership Through Membership

For clarity, becoming a Patreon member does not give you ownership of:

20. Intellectual Property Enforcement

We take ownership of our intellectual property seriously.

If Patreon Content is redistributed, leaked, resold, mirrored, or otherwise used without authorization, modcore may take appropriate action, including:

We will not pursue members merely for reasonable personal use that is permitted by these Terms or an applicable license.

Our goal is to protect modcore's work while allowing legitimate members to enjoy the benefits they supported.


21. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).

If you are an EU consumer, this choice of law does not remove any mandatory consumer-protection rights or the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence where applicable law provides that right.

Before pursuing formal proceedings, we encourage both parties to attempt to resolve genuine disputes through good-faith communication.

For disputes that are legally permitted to be resolved through arbitration, the parties may agree to arbitration under the applicable rules of the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS).

Nothing in these Terms requires an EU consumer to give up mandatory statutory rights concerning courts, consumer protection, or dispute resolution.


22. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent legally permitted, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.


23. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the applicable EULA, Privacy Policy, and any other terms expressly incorporated into them, govern your Patreon membership and related benefits.

If a specific Patreon benefit has separate terms or a separate license, those terms apply to that benefit where stated.

If an applicable law or third-party license grants you rights that cannot legally be removed by these Terms, those rights remain unaffected.
