Patreon & Payment Terms

These terms govern your financial support of modcore through Patreon and any related benefits.

1. Eligibility & Voluntary Support

You must be at least 18 years old to pledge. By supporting modcore, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Payments are voluntary contributions to support our open-source work. They do not constitute a purchase of software, ownership, equity, or decision-making authority. Supporters have no claim over our intellectual property, roadmap, or operations.

2. Third-Party Payment Processing

All billing, subscriptions, cancellations, and refunds are handled by Patreon. We do not process payments directly, store financial details, or have access to your full payment information.

Billing disputes must be resolved through Patreon.

3. Data Collection for Benefit Delivery

To deliver membership benefits, we access limited information from Patreon: username, email, Discord username (if connected), membership tier, subscription date, profile image, and engagement data.

We do not access physical addresses or phone numbers. All data handling follows our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR where relevant.

4. Membership Tiers & Benefits

Benefits may include early access, experimental builds, Discord roles, behind-the-scenes updates, and supporter recognition.

We may modify, restrict, or discontinue any tier, benefit, or pricing structure at any time. We do not guarantee continued availability of specific rewards or delivery timelines for experimental features.

5. Experimental & Early Access Disclaimer

Early-access and experimental builds may contain bugs, instability, or breaking changes. They are provided "as is" without warranties. See our EULA for full warranty and liability terms.

We may modify or discontinue experimental content without notice. By accessing it, you accept these risks.

6. Content Ownership & License Restrictions

Software builds distributed through Patreon are governed by our EULA and their applicable open-source licenses.

Non-software content shared on Patreon—including documentation, designs, graphics, videos, and media—remains our exclusive property. Unless explicitly licensed otherwise, such content is provided for personal, non-commercial use only.

You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, mirror, leak, publicly repost, or share non-software content outside the Patreon platform. Reverse engineering or extracting premium assets for redistribution is prohibited.

Violation may result in immediate termination of access and legal action.

7. Community Conduct & Revocation of Access

We may revoke access to Patreon content, Discord servers, or community spaces for:

8. Chargebacks & Fraud Prevention

Fraudulent chargebacks or bad-faith payment disputes may result in immediate termination of all access, permanent restriction from future participation, and reporting to Patreon under their policies.

We want you to feel confident supporting our work. If something does not meet your expectations, contact us.

EU Consumer Right of Withdrawal

If you are an EU consumer, you have a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from your purchase. For digital content, this right expires once you begin downloading or accessing the content, provided you have given your prior express consent.

By accessing Patreon-exclusive digital content, you acknowledge and consent to immediate delivery, and understand that your statutory withdrawal right ends at that point.

We review each request individually and aim to respond quickly. All refunds are processed through Patreon, so timing depends on their systems. We reserve the right to decline abusive requests.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for Patreon-related claims shall not exceed the total amount you paid in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for: loss of access due to Patreon platform issues; technical issues with early-access builds; changes to membership structures; or loss of data, revenue, or opportunities from experimental content.

For users in Germany and the EU: We remain fully liable for intent and gross negligence. Liability for injury to life, body, or health remains unaffected. Mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.

11. Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).

For EU consumers: This does not affect your right to bring proceedings in your country of residence under mandatory consumer protection law.

For all other disputes, parties shall first attempt good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the Rules of Arbitration of the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS). The tribunal shall consist of one arbitrator. The place of arbitration is Germany. The language is English.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree that proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis, not as a class or representative action. This does not apply where prohibited by mandatory law.

12. Modifications to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued support after updates constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to material changes, you may cancel your membership.

13. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect. These terms, together with our EULA and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement regarding Patreon support.
