Screen Mirroring Cast to TV

Effective Date: July 1, 2026 |  Last Updated: July 2, 2026

Welcome to Screen Mirroring Cast to TV ("App", "we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience when using our App. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide and improve the App's core casting and screen mirroring functionality. The App does not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or payment details unless you voluntarily provide it.

2.1 Device and Network Information

To discover and connect to nearby TVs, smart displays, and casting devices, the App accesses:

Wi-Fi network state and connection information

Nearby device information (via Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth) for device discovery

IP address of your local network, used only to locate and connect to casting devices on the same network

This information is used exclusively to establish a local connection between your device and your TV or casting device. It is not transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.

2.2 Screen Content During Mirroring

When you actively start a screen mirroring or casting session, the App uses Android's MediaProjection API to capture and transmit your screen content directly to your selected TV or casting device over your local network.

Screen content is streamed in real time and is not recorded, stored, or uploaded to our servers.

Screen capture only begins after you explicitly grant permission via the Android system consent dialog for each session and stops immediately when the session ends.

We do not access, view, or retain any content displayed during mirroring.

2.3 Usage & Diagnostic Data

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve App performance, including:

App crashes and error reports

General performance metrics (e.g., connection success rate, casting duration)

Feature usage statistics (anonymized)

This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

2.4 Notification Preferences

The App may send notifications related to active casting sessions (e.g., connection status, session controls). Notification data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Below is a detailed explanation of every Android permission the App requests and the specific purpose for each:

Internet Access: INTERNET

Required to establish and maintain the local streaming connection between your device and the target TV/casting device. Also used by analytics or ad SDKs, if enabled. We do not transmit your screen content or personal data to our servers.

Network State: ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE / ACCESS_WIFI_STATE

Used to detect Wi-Fi connectivity and ensure your device is on a network suitable for casting.

Multicast: CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE

Used to discover casting-compatible devices (e.g., Chromecast, DLNA, Miracast receivers) on your local network via multicast/broadcast discovery protocols.

Nearby Wi-Fi Devices: NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES (Android 13+)

Used exclusively to discover and connect to nearby casting devices without requiring broader location access.

Location (Legacy Android 12 and below only): ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION

On older Android versions, the system requires location permission to perform Wi-Fi device scans, even though the App does not use or store your actual geographic location. This permission is used solely to enable device discovery and is not used for tracking.

Screen Capture: Requested via MediaProjection system dialog

Required each time you start a mirroring session, in compliance with Android's user-consent requirements. This is a one-time, per-session grant controlled entirely by you through the Android system, not the App.

Foreground Service: FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION

Allows the App to run a foreground service so that screen mirroring continues reliably while the App is in the background, in compliance with Android 14+ requirements.

Notifications: POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Required on Android 13+ to display an active casting session notification with connection status and stop controls. No marketing or promotional notifications are sent without your explicit consent.

Audio Capture (if applicable): RECORD_AUDIO / Audio Playback Capture

Used only when mirroring includes system audio, to transmit audio in sync with your screen content to the casting device. Audio is streamed in real time and is never recorded or stored.

The App uses a foreground service to provide continuous, uninterrupted screen mirroring. This service:

Runs in the foreground with a persistent notification while a casting session is active

Streams screen (and optionally audio) content directly to the connected device over your local network

Does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data or screen content to our servers

Terminates automatically when the casting session is stopped or the App is closed

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer your personal information or screen content to outside parties. We may share anonymous, aggregated data in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers: With trusted third-party vendors who assist in operating the App (e.g., crash reporting services such as Firebase Crashlytics). These vendors are contractually bound to keep information confidential.

Legal Requirements: If required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, users will be notified.

We retain anonymous usage and diagnostic data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Screen content streamed during casting is never stored and exists only transiently during an active session.

You can delete all locally stored App data (preferences, device pairing history, cache) by clearing the App data from your device's Settings at any time.

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to remove such information.

All screen mirroring and device discovery occur locally over your own network connection. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any data we do collect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no method of transmission over a network or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We recommend casting only over trusted, private Wi-Fi networks.

The App may integrate third-party services or SDKs (such as analytics, advertising networks, or casting protocol libraries, e.g., Google Cast SDK). These services may collect information subject to their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services we use. Current third-party integrations may include:

Google Play Services for App distribution and licensing verification

Google Cast SDK for Chromecast device discovery and connection

Firebase / Google Analytics for anonymous usage analytics (if enabled)

Google AdMob for displaying advertisements (if the free version is ad-supported)

You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's Google account settings (Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization).

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

Access: The right to request information about the data we hold about you

Deletion: The right to request deletion of your personal data

Correction: The right to request correction of inaccurate data

Portability: The right to receive a copy of your data in a structured format

Objection: The right to object to certain types of data processing

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details provided in Section 13 below.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, by providing more prominent notice (such as an in-app notification).

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.

This App and Privacy Policy are designed to comply with Google Play's Developer Program Policies, including:

Prominent Disclosure Requirements: Screen recording/casting functionality, all sensitive permissions (including background location on legacy Android versions, if applicable), and their purposes are disclosed in this policy and within the App at the point of use.

Limited Use: All permissions are used only for the purposes described herein, primarily local device discovery and real-time screen mirroring, and for no other purpose.

Data Safety Section: Information provided in the Google Play Data Safety section is consistent with this policy.

Children's Policy: The App complies with Google's Families Policy requirements.

MediaProjection Consent: Screen capture is initiated only after explicit, per-session user consent through the Android system dialog, as required by Google Play policy.
