Mobile Learning Depends On Mobile Collaboration

One of the most powerful aspects of mobile learning is the use of collaboration and its ability to allow students to share, edit and manage their educational creations.

This is achieved through applications and technologies such as, Microsoft Teams on a tablet.

Changing Learning: The rise of Mobile technologies has changed how education and the teaching-learning process are experienced by both the educator and student (Todino, de Simone, Kidiamoboko, 2022, p. 233).

Mobile collaboration and mobile learning are complementary. Further, mobile tools allow for the creation of highly collaborative shared spaces. This is effectively seen on field trips where students can experience physical spaces while engaging with materials and resources that would otherwise have been a burden or impossible to bring. (Simon, Marfisi-Schottman, George, 2022, p. 602).

Successful mobile learning depends on collaboration. For example, mobile learning has embraced the social media trend, where websites are converted into apps or made specifically for mobile devices. The similarity of the graphic platforms has allowed learners and educators to embrace it easily and quickly.

Mobile learning can also be seen as a social process that takes place in a context where collaboration between students, peers and teachers constructs an understanding of their world (Todino, de Simone, Kidiamoboko, 2022, P. 235).

Access to Expertise: Mobile devices connect learners with experts or educators from anywhere in the world. Students and educators can access virtual guest lectures, webinars, or discussions with experts in their field, allowing them to expand their knowledge. We have seen the creation of learning communities, full of individuals willing to share and learn from people from all over the world, right from the comfort of their homes if they wish to.

Flexible Scheduling: Mobile learning, in combination with mobile collaboration, offers students the ability to work outside of traditional classroom hours, all the while participating in discussions and group activities. This allows the learner to participate while accommodating their busy schedules.
