AI Use In Mobile Collaboration And Learning

The Goal

AI is being used to better the learning experience of students. This is done by increasing communication between learners, and their educational supports. The goal is to facilitate achieving educational outcomes.

Examples of how AI is being used to enhance collaboration

   (OpenAI, 2023)

AI is being integrated to improve educational experiences. This can be seen and experienced in the following ways:

AI is being integrated into elementary and middle school to provide flexibility in learning resources, all the while student progress and learning are recorded, allowing for a personalized assessment of their progress. (Haiguang, Shichong, Shushu,  Xianli, 2022, 45-44).

AI can build a learning environment for collaborative teaching. It has changed how we engage with information. Providing helpful feedback, grading, and directing students and teachers to data best fits their needs (Wölfel, 2020, 31).

AI can be trained to determine the style of learning that best fits each student. At the same time, it can ascertain the best type of teaching style that fits the educator (Luckin, George, & Cukurova, 2022, p. 92).

The authors of AI For School Teachers describe their challenge question: "How can we know that the quality of teaching and learning is maintained when moving from face-to-face to mainly online provision?" (Luckin, George, & Cukurova, 2022, p. 86).

Luckin, George, & Cukurova (2022) found a rule-based system, that is designed to provide feedback to teachers and students, as well as determining when to encourage collaboration, is valuable for painting the quality of teaching online (p. 94). They also point to the use of AI-guided eye-tracking technology in determining the effectiveness of students working together online (p. 94).

Finally, Haiguang, Shichong, Shushu, & Xianli (2020), found that the combined use of an artificial intelligence robot assistant and the digital environment can create a successful collaborative teaching and learning environment (p. 50).
