Welcome!

I am Mohammad Nazmus Sakib, currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at East West University, where I teach, conduct research, and mentor students. I graduated in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering from Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, and previously worked as a Research Assistant at the National Institute of Biotechnology.

My research interests include antibiotic resistance, machine learning in biology, and cancer genomics.

I have also been actively involved in science outreach and leadership. I worked with the Bangladesh Biology Olympiad and served as Convener of the country’s first National Biotechnology Olympiad, involving nearly 1,100 students from 30 universities and over 100 secondary educational institutions nationwide.

I am a recipient of several competitive awards, including a fully funded research internship and travel grant from IRCMS, Kumamoto University, Japan (2024), and the ISBM–Shahrin Chowdhury Fellowship (2024–25) from the International Society of Bangladesh-Affiliated Microbiologists (ISBM).

Outside academia, I enjoy gardening and spending time in nature.
