Review Project: Hepatitis C in Bangladesh: A Comprehensive Review on Prevalence and Detection Using Molecular Approaches

The hepatitis C virus (HCV) can be regarded as the root cause of hepatitis C. It affects 200 million of population around the world, with 85 percent of those infected develop various complications. These include chronic hepatitis, failure of liver, or hepatocellular cancer. Hepatitis C is alarmingly becoming a serious public health issue in many nations such as Bangladesh, with a prevalence rate of 1% and genotype 3 being the most common. This review study has been designed look for the present state of HCV in Bangladesh, with a particular focus on prevalence, genotypes, risk factors, diagnosis, accessible medications, and treatment procedures. This analysis also highlights the importance of determining the country's true HCV prevalence rate as well as demonstrating a clearer picture of the genotypes present locally.
