Tim Gormley - 651-295-1736

I have just finished my 29th season of coaching.  I began in 1992. I coached baseball for four years.  In 1996 I switched to softball and that is where my heart has been ever since.  I have coached at all levels.  I have spent most of my time at the college level.  I spent 3 years as an assistant at St. Mary’s University.  I was apart of teams that consistently won conference titles and was selected to participate in regional tournaments.  After two years as head coach at Mounds View High School I rejoined my friend and colleague, John Tschida, at the University of St. Thomas as an assistant coach.  While there I was a part of teams that again consistently won conference championships (2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006) and was selected to partake in NCAA regional playoff tournaments.  The 2002 (5th), 2004 (1st), 2005 (1st), and 2006 (2nd) teams all made appearances in the NCAA National Tournaments.   I spent 10 years as the Head Softball Coach at Augsburg University where our teams earned 3 trips to the conference tournament.

I just finished coaching the Mahtomedi Zephyrs this past season to a section runner up experience.  I am looking forward to another opportunity to work with those athletes again this upcoming spring season.

I have been fortunate enough to work with Dan Rubischko  in the past and am looking forward to continue coaching in his organization.  Gary Prantner and I coached the 18u team to a 5th place finish in the national tournament in Kansas City 2020.

The Elite is an organization that thinks of the athletes first.  I absolutely agree with that.  My values and priorities are with teaching the game by emphasizing the fundamentals.  My friend and colleague, John Tschida, a great coach, once said to me “If you take care of the fundamentals, the fundaments will take of you.”
