Ying Chen received her B.S.E.E. in 2009 from Xidian University, Xi'an, and M.S. in 2012 from Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2012~2018, she worked as microwave engineer in the same observatory on the development of cryogenic GaAs LNA for radio-astronomical receivers using WIN 0.15μm and 0.1μm GaAs pHEMT, OMMIC 70nm mHEMT, and IAF 50nm mHEMT processes, and was in charge of the on-wafer measurements of transistors, LNAs and mixers, and the cryogenic noise temperature measurement of packaged LNAs. She is also familiar with radio-telescope operations. She received the Young Scientist Grant from the National Science Foundation of China in 2014~2016 on the design of K/Q-band MMIC receivers for astronomical focal-plane arrays. She is now pursuing her Ph.D. under the supervision of Professor Neville Luhmann of ECE Department, UC-Davis, and her research interests include 110~140-GHz (F-band) 65nm-CMOS receiver circuit design, 75~110-GHz (W-band) 40nm-GaN receiver circuit design, and 55-75-GHz (V-band) array system integration.
