Mr. Logan Himes, B.S. 2010 from UC Davis in Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology. He specializes in the design and precision fabrication of millimeter wave components and assemblies using the latest in manufacturing techniques. In Professor Luhmanns research group he focuses in the development of the DMG Mori NN1000 nano precision CNC machining center for the production of high frequency vacuum electronic circuits. He works extensively with design and CAD modeling (14 years experience) as well as with Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics tools. His manufacturing skills include: micro- and nano- machining methods and practices for miniature parts, CNC/CAM controls for high speed/high accuracy part manufacture, metal joining processes such as Laser and TIG welding among others. He possesses 16 years machining experience, 14 years of CNC machining experience, and 7 years of precision nano-CNC machining experience. His other expertise includes precision measurement/metrology, quality control, sterile techniques and chemical processing/multistep synthesis, electronics and microcontroller integration as well as general fabrication and assembly. He also heads up the safety and training programs for the DMRC.
