Mission Statement: To gain the knowledge and skills necessary to collect and preserve both physical and digital resources and artifacts that document the vast experiences and traditions of peoples of African descent, as well as share those resources through diverse collections, programming, and other events for public consumption.

· Networking
o Supporting Statement: I will attend conferences and other networking events as those opportunities arise, at least two a year.
o Strategic Outcome: Gain experience talking to others about my work to form new connections and potential center supporters.
· Technology Use
o Supporting Statement: I will take a class on technology use in libraries and seek support through the TCCL IT department.
o Strategic Outcome: Gain understanding of AARC (African American Resource Center) website upkeep and extensive knowledge on how to create and manage a digital collection.
· Collection Development and Management
o Supporting Statement: I will take a class on collection development and continue to work with the collections team to understand the processes of development beyond purchasing items.
o Strategic Outcome: Gain the knowledge and skills to create a vibrant and diverse collection of artifacts, resources, and reference materials on various cultures of the African diaspora.

o Supporting Statement: I will reach out, via email or phone, to at least two other cultural center coordinators outside of the TCCL system.
o Strategic Outcome: Gain knowledge on the work of other resource coordinators to keep up with trends and changes to centers such as the AARC.
