Orchestra Classroom Expectations
Enter Prepared – Use main entrance only with all required materials.
Digital Devices – Phones must be off and stored in lockers during class.
Bag Policy – Backpacks/bags remain in lockers (not in classroom/hallways).
Instrument Rotation – Take instruments home Fridays, return Mondays.
Shared Space Respect – Return all moved equipment to original positions.
Ready to Play – Be seated with instrument ready when rehearsal begins.
Daily Essentials – Bring: pencil, music binder, planner, iPad daily.
Participation Protocol – Raise hand to speak; no interrupting others.
Focus During Instruction – No talking or playing during directions.
Room Maintenance – Clean your area, return music, leave no trash.
Rosin Care – Never place rosin on stands.
Instrument Etiquette – Don't touch others' instruments; loosen bows and wipe off strings daily.
Personal Space – Remain in your assigned area during rehearsal.
Tuning Responsibility – Warm up and tune before class begins.
Case Management – Keep cases closed and properly stored.
Safe Environment – No throwing objects of any kind.
Gum Policy – Not permitted in orchestra room (dispose before entering).
Growth Mindset – Embrace challenges and learn from mistakes.
Mutual Respect – Treat all with kindness, patience, and encouragement.
Musician's Pride – Represent our program with excellence at all times.

Note: Breaking any of these rules may result in a note being sent home. Consistent rule-breaking or multiple violations in a single day could lead to notifying the front office for further action.

They have a program called rent to buy that is very helpful as students move through different sizes of instruments.
If your student plays a full size instrument you may greatly benefit from investing in purchasing an instrument. However, please reach out to me for advice on sizing purchasing.
