Schedule
Optional 5pm dinner provided to our students
5:50pm - Be seated with your instrument on Bertha stage
6:00-6:15pm - Play background music (15 minutes)
~7:00pm - Play during the Soup Course (10-15 minutes)
~7:45pm - Play during the Dinner Course (20-25 minutes)
After the dinner course, you will slip off stage; you are done for the evening
~8:00pm ending time
Other details - Here we'll be background music during the dinner - Our job is to fit the atmosphere and just keep the music rolling between the choir songs. The Madrigal singers have been preparing this show for a long time and we are more like the elevator music between their pieces.

Jr. Prelude is an extra ensemble where students learn how to play in a small group without a conductor. Mr. Akers was a part of this group when he attended MJHS in 2007 and 2008, and continued performing with Prelude in high school. In college he played in a string quartet, ran it like a business, made money playing at weddings and other events and continues to perform with colleagues from time to time. This group is the Face of the Junior high orchestra. They perform at gigs such as volleyball games, madrigal dinners, retirement homes, school events and recruiting events to get elementary students interested in joining orchestra.
