In my ASEM titled, Versions of Egypt, I wrote a travel essay where I interviewed one of the characters from the 2006 novel, The Yacoubian Building, regarding their thoughts on the Arab Spring. While that may sound incredibly niche, I think this essay goes beyond the characters and showcases a tight and intimate scene in the middle of a political upheaval and revolution.
For my Systems in Emergent Digital Practices course, we broke down the different elements of a system into their component parts. We explored everything from nanosytems and food systems to the senses and climate maps. I am including a link to blog I created for that class because it required a great amount of writing about systems and challenged me to dynamically represent information using charts and infographics as well as animated gifs and videos. I was also the documentarian for my group's final project in which we turned fruit into an interactive music and video player. I was responsible for getting all our ideas down on paper into a proposal and tracking our progress throughout the project.
