Pursuing a writing minor has taken me out of my comfort zone. It has taught me to branch out in genres and to take criticism about my work. I learned that I like to write grants and proposals as they feel useful and helpful. I learned that reflection is a wonderful thing and can help you progress both as a writer and as a human. I found that writing can be emotional too. Putting into the words the way you feel about someone or the way the way they have impacted your life renders you incredibly vulnerable but deserves to be shared. Writing has taught me to be open and honest, to show fear, and to be flexible with my perspectives.
