Mithun Dutta is a Technical Specialist in Anticipatory Action and Climate Resilience at Save the Children in Bangladesh. He works on designing and implementing multi-hazard anticipatory action systems to protect vulnerable communities from climate-related risks such as floods, cyclones, heatwaves, and landslides. His work focuses on strengthening early warning systems, integrating scientific forecasts into humanitarian decision-making, and promoting community-based preparedness and resilience.
Before joining Save the Children, Mithun worked at icddr,b in the Climate Change and Health Research Group, where he contributed to research on the intersection of climate variability, public health, and vulnerability. He has extensive experience collaborating with government agencies, meteorological institutions, and humanitarian partners to translate climate and weather information into actionable early warning and anticipatory action.
Mithun is committed to advancing evidence-based climate resilience solutions that bridge science, policy, and community action to reduce risk of vulnerable populations.
