Kaitlin Silva graduated from the Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology in 2013. After graduating, she accepted a spot at The University of Georgia with the class of 2017. In 2014, Kaitlin was accepted to the College of Education's Bachelor of Science in Education in Early Childhood Education program, which is ranked #6 by U.S. News for its degree offering. While in the program, Mrs. Silva worked with students from age four to eleven and at both public and private institutions. The majority of her practicum hours were within Title I schools in a low-income, rural area. Her passion for equal-opportunity education is what drives her insistence on researched-based practices and culturally-responsive pedagogy. Mrs. Silva also believes that there is no one "right" way to teach children, as they are all unique individuals with rich backgrounds to contribute to her lessons and classroom community.
In May of 2021, Mrs. Silva graduated from Georgia Southern University with her Masters in Instructional Design and Technology. During her time in the program, she learned the principles of adult education and instructional design. She currently applies her skills, including but not limited to needs assessment creation, training development, research, and formative assessment of practices, in her role as a Digital Learning Specialist in Rockdale County Public Schools. Her role focuses on the development and deliverance of high-quality training materials for appropriate technology integration in the public classroom.
