Design Considerations
Contrast
I chose light colors for the text to contrast with the background.
Repetition
Light yellow and gray text were colors pulled from the background and adjusted slightly to add visual variety while still maintaining a sense of unity.
Alignment
Most of the text is aligned to the picture frame on the left. The date is offset from the rest of the type to help it stand out, but it is aligned on the bottom to the text on the opposite side of the graphic.
Proximity
Again, the date is purposefully set at a distance from the rest of the graphic to make it more noticeable. This is the most important information on the card, so separating it from the other text and picture elements gives it its own space and individualized attention from the viewer.
Color Choice
Yellow was one of my wedding colors and matches the clothing we are wearing in the photos. The yellow type and gray type are also chosen to blend with the other colors on the graphic.
Font Choice
Our photos are mostly fun and playful. We're even wearing very casual clothing. I chose more casual fonts, but still fonts that create a clean and "wedding-like" feel.
Photoshop Skills
The following Photoshop skills were used to create this graphic:
Created a layer mask and applied it to a group.
Imported 10 images in a stack and placed them in the group to ensure the layer mask applied to those images.
Adjusted the colors on the photos.
Created a frame animation after placing all of the photos in the layer mask area.
Added and edited text.
